It’s a cover because The Entire Population of Hackney did it first and you can hear that on a bootleg.

Maiden didn't put out That Girl before FM did. FM released it on their debut album Indiscreet, 8th september 1986. Maiden released it as a b-side 10th of november 1986.

In that case yes, but I thought the whole point was that Maiden recorded it first.
Checking through back the posts, I can now see than @MindRuler got it right but the initial ones by @Starblind and @Diesel 11 not so.
