AWESOME GIG

Excellent Crowd!!!

I really think Lauren Harris is a better opener than Trivium, although Trivium is not too bad, althought sometimes a bit too heavy for my taste, I am not into trash. (this was just my opinion).
I think that the shows that will have both openers in Europe are gonna have a very nice show...
Iron Maiden had same setlist... I was in seat places yesterday... thus I could focus more on the music, the whole new album sounds so great live...
As everydody already knows, Bruce confirmed that they will be on tour with ancient Egypt stage production and 80's material in 2008!  They will do Gothenburg and Stockholm stadiums in Sweden...I hope to be able to be in Europe for that tour.... (that is the closest thing to the time machine I have always dreamed about!)
well you can check some pics of the Scandinavium gig in my space

Yup, not many people here like the kind of trash done by Trivium :P

Really a great gig even if Bruce voice didn't were on top on all of the high notes. But just an enormus show, but...

...since me and my girlfriend only got seats and in a perhaps in the most shitty spot in the whole Scandinavium Arena. But this coulldn not let me down, not when Maiden are playing. But the thing that most people, i think me, my girfriend and 5 - 10 persons on "our" side of the stairs where the only one that stood up att singed along. AMOLAD is such a great album and should earn more respect than it did by most of the the "sitting crowd". Anyway that didn't let me down on the concert but it's a shame, I think. When the classic with Fear of the Dark started, most of the sitting crowd where standing up which was a relief.

And back to the concert ;). The sound were perfect when Maiden entered the stage. During the acoustic intro in "The Legacy" Adrians guitar sounded really fucked up that i saw he complained about. Also some mic at the drumkit broke during "Iron Maiden".
Nicko got out from his drumkit during the intro of Benjamin and starts huging Bruce that starts laughing. Quite odd and Bruce sings something like "Let me tell you about a quite odd story about a song". My memory sucks so perhaps anyone else could post what he said.

All I can say is that I had a great time, loved it. But the atmosphere in the crowd, at least in the sittning crowd could be better.

Well, we were sitting in the U section and many were standing up the whole time. The gig was amazing - IM must be one of the best live acts in the world! Unfortunately, I thought Bruce's mic was set too low as you couldn't hear the lyrics much of the time.
I read a review that probably hit the show right on the spot - he wrote that...

During the AMOLAD songs it was a bit like watching your favourite football team playing a home game. The crowd cheers because they see their favourites, and they cheer as soon as someone does something "extra" but nothing really special. When Fear of the dark came on, it's like your team scoring the first of 5 goals and the crowd went nuts. I love AMOLAD and applaud the gutsy move to include the entire album, but it's probably a bit too technical and difficult for a boozed-up crowd looking for thrills. I thought the songs worked perfectly live, but I know some in my party said that the album is brilliant, but not great live. I don't agree, but there it is.

A brilliant show anyway and now I'm just waiting for Ullevi in 2008 :D
