Watched the Mexico/Croatia game last night, and was very impressed with Mexico, as I have been throughout the tournament so far. The game against Holland should be a cracker! :) I'm really hoping Chile can do a number on Brazil, and that should be another great game!

A similar tournament is held by Non-FIFA every two years, named Viva World Cup. Kurdistan were the latest champions, beating Northern Cyprus in the final.

Yes, I saw that, and...well, what a fucking asshole. Just because he has teeth as big as Freddie Mercury's doesn't mean they're a weapon for use in a football match.

Pfffff. Seems like they'll be going against Colombia, and if there's justice in the world, that maniac will be kicked out of the cup, meaning Uruguay will probably lose too.

Just finished watching the Italy/Uruguay game, and there was very little great football played by either team, but the last 20 minutes or so were intense! The ref definitely gave the right decision by sending Marchisio off, as it was a reckless and dangerous foul. Suarez was very lucky to remain on the pitch though, after what looked at first like a headbutt, but actually was a bite to the Italian player. Uruguay were disappointing, Italy weren't great either, but gave a valiant performance after being reduced to 10 men, and after the bite, I wanted them to go through. Not a great football match, but great excitement nonetheless in the closing stages. This World Cup has been mostly compulsive viewing so far!

One revolting cretin's behaviour shouldn't be held against the entire squad. At the end of the day, England had an abysmal run in the group and Italy weren't much better either, so it's not as if Uruguay don't deserve to advance. Don't hold it against the other 22 players who didn't offend.

Based on quality of play in the 3 group games, I don't think Uruguay deserved to go through any more than Italy did. They were terrible against Costa Rica, decent against England (as were Italy) but wouldn't have won that game without Suarez, and were pretty much just as tepid as Italy in the last match. Italy's play was a bit more understandable, as a draw would have seen them through. I was expecting more from Uruguay, as they needed a win. I was pretty much a neutral for this match, so it's not as if I was supporting Uruguay, and then decided not to based on Suarez's madness. :p Neither side has played particularly well so far, a fact made plainly clear with the fact that Costa Rica finished the group top of the table.
