Argentina would lose badly with this kind of performance against any of the really good teams in this tournament. Based on the first two games, they are off the shortlist for title candidates.

A pity that I missed France vs Switzerland, must have been a cracker.
 
What a goal! Messi has been the difference in both of Argentina's matches. Tip for opponents in the knockout stages: kill Messi.

First off, I didn't see the match between the two and didn't know the result when I posted - I just came home from a party :D To be honest, that statement was based on what Iæve seen of Ivory Coast earlier. The part about Ghana and USA is because Ghana did really well in the last World Cup and the US usually go through from the group stage, but of course I'm aware that a lot can change in four years.

Precisely! If Argentina are going to win the tournament, they're going to have to start playing much better. They were lucky to win both of their first two matches, and against better sides they will be punished for sub-par performances like that.

Looking forward to Germany v Ghana!
 
Gana is being naughty. Attacks with many and allows counter-attacks. So far, so good.
 
Germany vs Ghana is a good game so far, despite 0-0 at half time. A bit like Brazil vs Mexico. High pace, but two well organized defences. It might take some magic by either team to decide this one.
 
The commentator just said "This reminds me of the games of football we all used to play when we were kids. Whoever scores next wins and then you can all go home for your tea!"
 
Great game. 3rd best game of the tournament so far, I think, after Netherlands-Spain and France-Switzerland. Ghana put up a tremendous fight as a team.

Germany should stop playing Lahm as a midfielder immediately. They played 4 centre back on the defense today, it was ridiculous. Höwedes is not a left back and he will never be.
