2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil

Well congratulations to Chile. They really look like to have a strong team.

Spain isn't a surprise. They scored few goals during the qualifying, their Condeferations Cup final was bad, they are too slow for their style of play, i feel they are tired of winning too, they didn't renew their team properly (5 players have more than 100 games, 3 are closer...).

The game between Holland and Chile will be really exciting. Whoever loses, meets Brazil in the next round and I bet this would be a powerful motivation to win.

Well done Chile! Now it will be exciting to see who will win the group - or who will actually want to win it, depending on whether Brazil finish 1st or 2nd in their group..

Cameroon vs Croatia can also be thrilling. They both need a win, Cameroon more so than Croatia. With a draw we could get a reprise of Group E from the 1994 World Cup, where all four teams ended on four points. But that requires Cameroon to beat Brazil ...

Cameroon don't look like a "team", I expect a comfortable win for Croatia.

Oh, I think the Dutch and the Chileans did that pretty well already. :p

So David Villa's goals-to-games ratio is better than one in two but he doesn't get on the pitch. Instead a player who has barely scored in the last two-and-a-half years gets a game.

Croatia were very unlucky not to get something from the first game with Brazil. In contrast, Cameroon were lucky to only lose by one goal in their first game, as Mexico had two perfectly good goals disallowed in that game. Hopefully it will be a good game, but Croatia should win comfortably.

@The Flash and @Sara - you're both right. But what is good here is that Cameroon cannot be content with a draw. Often a team who know they're inferior will just try to park the bus and hope for a chance from a set piece, but Cameroon can't do that tonight. They must take chances and try to win.

Damn, damn, damn. I'm going to miss Colombia-Ivory Coast tomorrow and it has the potential to be a cracker. Think of me while you're watching it guys. :(

@Dr. Eddies Wingman - That is very true. Hopefully Cameroon will throw caution to the wind, and have a right go at Croatia. I'll always have a soft spot for Cameroon because of their performance at Italia 90', which was the tournament that got me interested in footie. :)

Goal for Croatia! Have to say, that came against the run of play, but one moment of quality was all the Croats needed! Decent game so far. :)

Could've been a historic result if Croatian players were a little more careful with their finishing.

Two Cameroonian players were fighting with each other. :nuts2:
