2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil

The Costa Rican squad contains no less than three former Fredrikstad FK players. Celso Borges played here for three seasons before moving to Swedish club AIK. Christian Gamboa played here for one year more, and now plays for Rosenborg. David Myrie was a flop and moved on after less than one season.

There are additional players in that squad who have played (or play) in Norway. Michael Barrantes plays for Aalesund, Christian Bolanos played for IK Start (now plays for FC Copenhagen) and Diego Calvo plays for Vålerenga.

Costa Rica are playing incredible football oh my H. They were massive underdogs but damn, they're wiping the floor with Uruguay.
