2008 Tour - Supporting Bands

Official website announced the supporting acts for the Australian shows.  In short: Vanishing Point will perform at the Perth and Melbourne shows, and Behind Crimson Eyes will perform at Sydney and Brisbane shows.  And, of course, Lauren Harris will open.

I've got no idea which is gonna open down here in Brazil. Never heard Lauren Harris playing as well...by the way (sorry Steve), if she plays like she looks things are going to be HOT !!!!! :halo:

Well :-) I think she looks better than she sings but yes, quite a show.

But in fact, I would prefer a gig without support bands. When they were doing the Early Days tour, they had no support in Prague as I recall. On the other hand, they had Gamma Ray once with them here, that was quite good. I think Lauren would be enough for me this year :-)

Yep, found out this morning that the steaming pile of emo crap known as Behind Crimson Eyes will be supporting Iron Maiden in Sydney and Brisbane.

Lauren Harris - all well and good, she was born into this scene, she deserves it.

Vanishing point - cool enough to cut it.

BCE - were busy cutting themselves and crying about hating their parents while we true fans were lined up at 4am outside ticketek offices to buy our tix.

So I had to join a Maiden forum to vent my spleen on the matter.

Here's a petition started by Aussie thrash band Sabretung to have BCE booted off the bill.

This is pretty insulting on the part of the promoter. I mean, if they really think we Iron Maiden fans ENJOY listening to emo crap, they've really misjudged us. And offensively too.

It's probably too late to actually have the lineup changed, as tour posters and shirts were probably printed months ago...but we really need to let the promoter know that they've made a HUGE mistake.

So sign the petition. I checked back a couple of times today and it's growing pretty fast really.

Gaaaaawd. How embarrassing. It's been 15 years since the Irons came out and how do we thank them? By setting them up with a dodgy emo opener for their east coast shows...at this rate they probably won't want to come back for another 15 years.

/rant.

That's so unrealistic. The chance of Blaze returning to Maiden is bigger, believe me. It would be nice though, and it's not forbidden to dream. ;)

All I know is that in March, besides Maiden, Queensryche and Dream Theater will visit São Paulo as well (probably on 7th and 9th) ...and the chance one will play at the other's gig is high.

For me there should be no opening act.
