2 Minutes To Midnight Iron Maiden Day by Day

Don't know if I'm a day late and a dollar short on this one, but I just ran across this book "2 Minutes To Midnight Iron Maiden Day By Day", and Holy Smokes! I can't recommend this book enough to any fan of Maiden.
It's a timeline that starts literally from 2500 BC up to the beginnings of the just ended Maiden England tour! They give the inspirations for the songs we all know and love. Like the year 2500 BC is when Horus and Osiris is mentioned in ancient Egyptian texts... Centuries later, Bruce and Steve would go on to write Powerslave based on these writings. The book is stunning in that it has a wealth of rare pictures, all being full color, hardcover, and weighing in at 245 pages long.
The best way to describe it is like a huge tourbook that's built for a coffee table and has everyone in it with quotes from just about all past and present band members as well as Rod, owners of pubs commenting on early maiden days, etc!
Sorry if I sound excited, but this is the coolest book I have ever seen on Maiden
I give it my highest recommendation!

Martin Popoff, I thought that name rang a bell! Turns out he is the same guy who wrote "Run For Cover: The Art of Derek Riggs" together with Derek. Also very recomendable.

Actually, the pictures don't do it justice! Beautiful book with a glossy hardcover. It's about the size of a tourbook, reads like one with detailed timelines and input from everyone associated with the band (even Paul DiAnno). Every page is bursting with color art and photos! I highly recommend playing your fav maiden tunes and dive right in! :)
It actually reads like a tourbook... You feel like you're waiting for Maiden to hit the stage while reading it ! Only, you'd be asking the band to wait an hour or so just to be able to finish the book ! It's that good ! :bigsurprise:

Weird... Amazon mentions that it's release date is November 12, 2013... however, they have it available for purchase right now.

:wtf:

Anyways, I just bought it. Getting it in three days.

Book looks awesome, just going by the few pictures Maiden10_0 uploaded. And there are supposedly 243 pages in the book, so it seems like it may be packed with info?

Jammed packed with info timeline fashion from the bands inception with the different lineup changes, with quotes from past members who have left the band with their take on what was happening within the band and how they actually left. They even cover their experiences with touring with KISS in 1980. All the major players are quoted within the book on every aspect of what went on up to the frontiers tour and they touch on the just finished Maiden England tour. Everyone from past and current members have something to say. The book makes you feel like you actually were there every step of the way on their incredible past and present adventures. Very thorough and comprehensive!
The timelines are incredible, with details as dates for things like movie release dates that inspired Maiden to write about them such as "where eagles dare" and "children of the dammed". It's a fascinating book that I literally cannot put down. It's now 3am and I just finished reading for the night and have to wake up at 5 am for work!

On the surface it sounds interesting but I am not sure if there's anything new in it for me. Not wanting to sound arrogant but I've read a lot on Maiden so if this dude "just" copy-pastes it all in chronological order, I'm not sure if that is worth the money.

Did he do anything new? Did he interview people especially for this book?
