I was out last weekend with my Book of Souls concert shirt on and some dude asked me if it was a “Stormtrooper T-Shirt”. I said, “Do you mean THE Trooper? No…it’s not.” I was at a bar before the Detroit show and they sold Trooper Beer. So I had a few. When cashing out my check read “3...

I didn't see them. I got in the arena when they were finishing up...and I spent that time buying a t-shirt, a tour flag and beer.

The Official Book of Souls Tour 2016 Thread (Warning: Spoilers within!)

I was there as well. I'm still kinda gleaming from it...a week later. It was a great, great show. They sounded so much better than when I saw them there in 2006. We drove up from Columbus and it was worth it. I was also at the pre-party at the bar across the street earlier meeting all kinda...

Kind of a Judas Priest style. Something like "United"

    Dream Theater

The new album is not very heavy or riff-friendly. There are a lot of power ballads. I don't mind the album, though. I think it's cool. I always dug DT, but I wouldn't call myself their biggest fan. So I can see how some fans may get turned off.

Yea. I have the new Steven Wilson. It's pretty good. It will for sure hold me over until his next full-length release.

    David Bowie

Days like today remind me how I take my love of music for granted. Things get woven into our hearts, minds and DNA without us even realizing. We don’t think about or fully appreciate the skin that covers our muscle and organs unless a day comes when it’s ripped from our bodies. And like that...

Shitting Buddies I’m sitting in the stall Reading my phone Enjoying the peace I’m glad I’m all alone That’s when the door In the stall next to me Is opened by a person Who’s not here to pee I can see a belt I can see a pair of shoes I don’t memorize feet So I don’t know who’s I hear the...

METAL NATION I belong to a club of rock n roll There are no fees; there is no toll We wear our bands spread across our chest You’ll never catch us in a jacket and vest We are spread throughout the Earth In our old blue jeans and our black t-shirts We don’t need cleansing; no sanitation Cuz we...

    The Concert Thread

It gets tougher for me at 46. Especially when many beers are thrown into the equation. I have a concert this Friday (Baroness) and another one the following Friday (Graveyard) and even THAT even seems like a lot. I wanna drive 2 ½ hours six days after Graveyard to see The Sword, but damn…That...

Calling All Stations show's a band that was out of ideas. They were focused on the sound of the album more than they were with the quality of all those mid-tempo(boring) songs.

    Favorite 666 Metal Songs, EVER!

If there is one musical genre that is the hardest to define it’s metal. In the 70s Aerosmith was considered metal. In the early 80s Bon Jovi was metal. So it’s real hard to put one’s finger on what is and isn’t metal. Then there are bands who aren’t really metal, but who have done metal...
