Agree. The songs are way better. Futureal, Clansman, When Two Worlds Collide, Lightning Strikes Twice … all great. A few lesser ones on there sure, but X Factor is a depressing dirge almost all the way through.
I Live My Way is junk and that’s clearly an unpolished guide vocal on there, but Judgement Day and Justice of the Peace are way better than most of the dirgy depressing war songs that made the cut.

Both DOD and AMOLAD suffer from a dorky upbeat opening song that doesn’t really fit in with the rest of the songs on the album.
Arguably BNW as well, but that one isn’t quite as dorky. Wickerman always sounded more like a Priest song than a Maiden song to me.

What’s wrong with the bloody chorus? I see people referencing it sometimes, I’ve never made a distinction between the chorus and the rest of the song, the whole thing is good.
If nothing needs changing it’s not the chorus it’s the wall of somewhat sloppy sounding guitars, the mix is shit...
