I don't think Wogmidget was trying to downplay Janick's songwriting contributions. I read it as highlighting Janick's personality. He does come across as a super chill and fun guy after all. All in all there were only up-sides to keeping him and I'm glad that he stayed with Maiden.

For the record, I appreciate your post and opinion and my opening line was more for comedic timing rather than anything else. But the happy chorus is the reason I rarely listen to this song, despite the album being one of my favorites. To me it sounds like it could be a children's song or something.

Janick's role in post-reunion Maiden: Beeing arguably the best (co-)song writer responsible for modern classics like Dance of Death and The Book of Souls.

Counterargument: It sucks. In my opinion it channels the worst tendencies of cheesy and poppy euro power metal and kinda ruins the song for me. Glad others like it, but I prefer a different style.
