Nice, enjoy! I'm back at work on Tuesday after being off since March. Can't say I'm particularly looking forward to it, especially the two days of "staff retraining". Fun!

Are you one of those people who on the summer solstice says "That's it, summer is over now, the nights will be drawing in" :p

    The Concert Thread

Green Day and similar bands were what I liked before I heard Maiden for the first time at about the age of 10 so I'd definitely say there is hope! My girls are 4 and 2 so are way too young for loud rock concerts right now. I feel like children are hardwired not to like the same music as their...

My last concert was Mastodon at the Brixton Academy in December 2017 so it's been a few years for me now too. I've seen them live a few times and this was a excellent show. Unfortunately life kind of gets in the way of going to more shows with me (being a single dad to two young girls doesn't...

I'm assuming the Judas Priest shows must be pushed back from September? Are their still tickets available for their tour? I'd love to go but it would be tough with work and other commitments for me at the moment.

Who’s Read what of Iron Maiden’s literary source material?

Out of interest what song was inspired by the Odyssey? I read it at school and it's actually pretty enjoyable.

I actually just re-listned to the whole album for the first time in ages last week and I just assumed it was Bruce.

    Short-answer questions

Was there a reason why Martin Birch retired from producing records when he did? He was only 43 when he produced his last album (Fear of the Dark), which is hardly an age to retire at even if he had been working since his early 20s. I find it surprising he quit when so relatively young. I'm sure...

I knew what it was when I moved here. I'd rather not see pubs close either. It's just amazed me how much I'd gotten used to the noise at the weekend when it had to close for the lockdown!
