    Brighter Than A Thousand Suns

Re: Daily Song: Brighter Than A Thousand Suns 10/10 I feel the way most here do, the song is nothing short of amazing. One of those tunes that just grabs you right away (rather than songs that take time to get into). Wish they would've made that main riff into a guitar harmony at some points...

    Ozzy Vs Dio (Solo Career)

What is it that brings these two vocalists together for an odd comparison? Though I like Ozzy's early stuff, I prefer Dio's musical output a lot more. Does anyone else get a wierd feeling sometimes that Osbourne isn't quite as involved in the writing of his music?

    Replacement

Even if Gers was missing/replaced for a show or tour, I think I would probably still have that "It's not quite the same" feeling, even if only slightly. Basically, I've paid to see the full band perform and that's what I want to see.

    Replacement

It depends.. Music is a business. Sometimes money has already been invested/spent and it's not economical to stop the ball from rolling, so bands will continue to tour with a temporary replacement and fans will go to see the show. Personally, I feel like it's not the same if a band has...

    Crazy metal/rock news

Re: Crazy statements of Sammy Hagar Ha ha, I remember hearing something about that in an interview years ago, around the time Hagar's Marching To Mars album came out. He mentioned the "aliens downloading into his brain" story. Nothing said here is really any different to me from others'...

    Re-recordings

My feelings exactly. ..And as for The Angel And The Gambler, it doesn't need to be re-recorded, just edited down.

    Van Halen

Without You is a terrible song to my ears. I would suggest instead Dirty Water Dog, or Fire In The Hole.

    Van Halen

I miss Michael Anthony being in Van Halen, wish he was back. If the new Van Halen material is anything as stellar as Me Wise Magic then the band is in fine form. As for Van Halen 3, I thought it was a bit of a dud overall. Nothing to do with Gary Cherone... it's just most of the songs weren't...

    Tool

Funny... I've been into Tool for a number of years now but I never liked them growing up. Haven't listened to Opiate yet, but I enjoy all of their other albums, don't know if I can pick a favourite amongst those. Overall I find Tool to be a decent band and pretty creative at times with the...

You know what would be REALLY sweet for Maiden's concerts?

Man you really love starting topics, don't you... I don't know about tour expenses and such, but I'd imagine the video screen idea would be more cost effective in the long run, what with not having to pay someone to create a huge backdrop and all each time the band goes on tour to support a new...

    Houston Show-Fans Suck

Banning Tboo Ted seems a wise decision indeed. Who fucking cares if other fans are enjoying themselves in a completely different way than you enjoy yourself. Not everyone likes to mosh/headbang/jump around at a concert just because you may do so. You paid for tickets to see Iron Maiden, not...

    Classic Albums DVD series

That's what I love about the series too. It's also great to hear insights from the band members/producers on the making of the album. I think that's the one. Dickinson is sort of narrating, and then he starts running from the rover (giant white ball from The Prisoner t.v. series).

Ronnie James Dio (1942-2010) - The Official Topic

It is indeed muted, but we should bear in mind that for some friends of Dio, they are trying to grip the fact that a loved/admired/respected one is gone and the last thing they can be concerned with is a public statement addressed to fans. And for those who were not on speaking terms with Dio...

Ronnie James Dio (1942-2010) - The Official Topic

Sucks as I never got to see Heaven & Hell play live. I'm also quite surprised, it seemed as if Dio was doing well with his treatments. I will miss his voice as he was my favourite of vocalists. *sigh* I must get used to the fact that many of the musicians I listen to will quit making music one...

Will you listen to new Maiden a soon as possible or wait?

What are you gonna do for your maiden fix once they finally call it quits? I might check for bootleg footage if I feel up to it, but otherwise I got no problem waiting for the studio album, whenever it's released.

    Hardest Maiden song to play?

I agree with Will-I-Am's comment, well said. As for Maiden songs, I can't say I find many of them very difficult to play. And for the ones that are difficult... many are only so mainly because I just haven't bothered to sit down and commit myself to learning them. I find Iron Maiden's songs...

Lots of restored pics on Derek Riggs website. Worthwhile checking!

I understand Riggs' dislike for the Maiden camp, but I think it is for different reasons. I don't quite think it is because he didn't want to be told how to create his illustrations... he is after all, an artist for hire. From what I've read/heard/been told, it seems more that Riggs eventually...

    New album: The Final Frontier!

What song is this? I'm usually pretty good at deciphering things like this, but I'm stumped here. I wish people wouldn't shorten the song titles like they do with album titles.
