my view on what this says about the future of maiden depends somewhat on the rest of the world tour. Is it really extensive? Are we talking May through to August? Is this now covering all territories, North America, South America, Asia, all in one go?

I think many fans fully appreciate that the reunion albums, esp the last two, are so long that the inconsistent quality of the material is very obvious. Whether this moves four of them to the bottom five of Maiden’s catalogue is a bold conclusion to draw from that inconsistency! But fair play...

Yes Maiden had their 90s speed with their reunion lineup, it was awesome. The Paris 99 show remains one of the best I ever saw.

I wouldnt go that far, it has a nice mood and a superb ending. But I agree in that I don’t understand the hype this track has for some fans. Same category as Empire of the Clouds for me: some good and even excellent ideas stretched to breaking point on this and on the Parchment.
