Theater of Salvation
The Healing Vision - An "orchestral" overture led by piano and synth strings introduces us to the theme of the album, which is loosely a concept: religion, corruption, sin and salvation. The Metal Opera pt. 0. Rate: 6, works but it has nothing particularly worth...
Very immature when it comes to songwriting and it shows (Tobi was like 17 when he single-handedly wrote the original Savage Poetry), the re-recording is better arranged.
For me it is Hellfire Club. On Mandrake he still was dependent from the classic power metal stylistic features (Helloween...
Been rediscovering Theater of Salvation - Mandrake - Hellfire Club lately.
Tobi's talent for chorus writing and arranging is unmatched. On Mandrake in particular he did an awesome job.
Regardlessly of when the riff goes back to, wasn't it confirmed that The Mercenary is a leftover from VXI?
PS — The rhythm under H's solo is pretty much a rewriting of the solo section of The Unbeliever, which totally sounds like Steve wrote it.

Bruce's sudden jump high on...

I tried to come up with an answer that completed the pre-chorus of When...
My point is that there's no use in thinking they were 'hiding' Adrian's contributions.
He left, they were authorized to release HIY, they recorded the final take and gave the solo to the new guy. End of the story. Note also that H isn't credited in any other way for the album (no "guitars on...

Been asking myself the same question for years. My answer is that they (Steve) merely wanted to fill the space in the CD and literally had nothing else.
