The studio version of Revelations is heavier because of the slower tempo. The vocal lines work better as well. Recent live versions are closer to album tempo though.

I'd say it's my second favorite "reunion era" album. The song arrangements and lyrics are on different level than TBOS with maybe one or two exceptions. I think it's Maiden's most mature album and I'm excited to see what else they can do on the next one.

Seems like Lost in a Lost World is one of lower ranked songs on this album but I really love it. Same with The Time Machine.

Death of the Celts is probably my least favorite but I certainly wouldn't call it a clunker. I'd argue there aren't any clunkers on Senjutsu.

The guitar sound suffered without him for sure. Maiden with just Janick and Dave was a much thinner sound and far less innovative than what Dave and Adrian were doing in the 80's.
