    Your Maiden blasphemy

Nicko McBrain is a mediocre drummer. Clive Burr was much, much better.

    Thanks. What a shame.

The Thin Line Between Love and Hate

Does anyone happen to know: have maiden ever performed this one live?

    Is Live After Death Overrated?

For me, the classic line-up is: Dickinson/Harris/Murray/Smith/Burr.

The Thin Line Between Love and Hate

Stupendously good track, better than ten out of ten. Sends shivers up my spine every time I hear it, and the last four mins (beginning with the quiet instrumental break, which just builds and builds) is incredible. And yes, it's a fundamental truth. There is indeed a fine line between love and...

    Somewhere In Time: Album Discussion

Thanks for giving me the benefit of your knowledge, Ruflux. I knew there was something about the sound and production of the album which I didn't like, I just didn't know the words for it!

    Somewhere In Time: Album Discussion

Regrettably and despite several attempts I just can't seem to get into SIT. The first four or five songs on the album have a kind of 'sameness' about them, both in tempo and production. I don't enjoy the production on the album, and not being a musician might struggle to express why...but the...

    Worst Iron Maiden Song

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son not up to Maiden standard? Please tell me you are joking! It's an absolute classic in the same league as Hallowed Be Thy Name!

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

Incredible song, and fair dues to Nicko (who I've never been a fan of) for his work on this song. I rate this song as a Maiden classic.

    Piece of Mind: Album Discussion

I remember being a little disappointed with POM, as anticipation was high in the wake of TNOTB. I felt that the first half of the album was strong, but the quality tailed off on side 2 (yes folks, I am old enough to remember buying the vinyl record on the day of release) Where Eagles Dare was a...

    Killers: Album Discussion

I think Killers is absolutely superb. Not a weak track on it. It's my favourite Maiden album.

Things about Iron Maiden that annoy you

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. (Some) people comment on it with a bit of a smirk. It seems to me that this type of attitude is a form of musical snobbery.

Things about Iron Maiden that annoy you

I wasn't trolling, I think Maiden are just fine without Janick Gers.

Things about Iron Maiden that annoy you

The 'whoa' stuff in The Red And The Black and also in Shadows Of The Valley. Not sure why, but I just find it annoying.

Things about Iron Maiden that annoy you

    1. Nicko McBrain. Have never gotten over my disappointment with his drumming from the day in he joined Maiden, particularly as he replaced the powerhouse Clive Burr. In my view, he has marred every Maiden release he has played on. Of all the drummers they could have chosen to replace Clive, they...

    .

Yes, I agree that 'spiritually' Dave is hugely important. To me, he is part of the 'face' of Iron Maiden and if he left it wouldn't feel the same anymore. And if either Steve or Bruce pulled the plug it wouldn't feel like Maiden any more either (obviously). I know Nicko is hugely loved by...

Why did Steve Harris fire Clive Burr ?

Hi, new here. Fascinating thread. I saw Maiden play on November 15th, 1982 at The Palais in Melbourne, Australia. Clive was unquestionably in the band when I saw them. He was my fave band member and he was a matter of yards away from where I stood in the second or third row.
