Heard the album... [Thread contains spoilers]

I'm not good at these track-by-track reviews. I fell in love with the album. What amazes me is that Maiden was able to put a song straigth into my favorites: 'For The Greater Good of God'. This is 'Sign Of The Cross' Part II for me. Mind-blowing. It's true that on first listens, the last...

Heard the album... [Thread contains spoilers]

This thread is full of spoilers. Read at your own risk Don't know where that spoilers option went, so even if I'm not revealing anything, those not wanting to hear anything about the new album: get off ! For the rest of you. I won't spoil it (sorry). Make what you want of these...

These Colours Don´t Run - Leak from the promo CD

Re: These Colours Don´t Run Before anyone asks, no, I can't give a link, sorry guys. The middle part is great ! The sing-along is a little too obvious, but then again... As a general judgement on the song, I won't spoil anything. Let's talk about it when it's released. Gosh, two days to go...

Powerslave set to be rebuilt for 2008 tour !

Wow, I'm so happy I found this audio interview. Bruce talks about many things, the most important being that the Powerslave set will be rebuilt for the 2008 History Part II tour ! Read it all here: http://www.maidenfans.com/index.php?ACT ... e&nid=2172 Cheers

    Watch Maiden live online!

The 70 year rule is indeed a US rule. Sadly, it's not enough to know that Maiden is an English band, as copyright laws would apply nationally (if you live in the US and access the website in the US, then it's illegal). Basically, the copyright law is governed by the Berne Convention (yep, in...

    Boston Legal

This show is sharp, witty and intelligent. A rare commodity. The dialogue is often marvelous and the tirades at court are often memorable. Happy that it was renewed for a third season. And looking forward to 'Studio 60', the new show from the West Wing creator ! Cheers

    Watch Maiden live online!

I'd have to check but I thought they changed the rules of copyright. Before, the owners had to declare themselves willing to pursue ownership every given period of time. By default, the piece would fall into public domain. Now, the owners don't have to lift a finger, it's automatically done...

Kerrang! review of "A Matter Of Life And Death"

Great ! Thanks ! I'll get on writing that for the news section later today. Hope that in the next Kerrang, the editors will tell us how many Ks they put for this one (only hint we're having is the fist question: general consensus says it's the best Maiden album in years) Cheers

Without Factor X & Virtual XI

It's true that releasing any album is hard. And I guess you could find special circumstances for every album Maiden did release. Now, I still think pressure can be a good thing and reveals great bands. Having to switch singers is always a great pressure, that's for certain. Not being relevant...

Without Factor X & Virtual XI

The X-Factor is just a rarity on this planet. One of the best album by any band. Now, 11 years after its release and after having listened to 'Benjamin Breeg', I'm still hoping Maiden can pull this kind of album off (even though the best albums had a tendency to be made in hard times: first...

    Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg Video

After almost a 100 listens, I thought it was time to add my grain of salt into this thread. As RW says it, I was pleasantly surprised about this song. I wasn't expecting this kind of song at all. I must admit I thought I would never hear such mature-sounding song from Maiden. More than 10 years...

    Thank God For Finland!

While not my cup of tea, I must say that I am really pleased they won. Shows that people who voted by SMS in all the participating countries are more open-minded that one would think (even if youngsters might vote a lot more than older people). Way to go, Finland ! Cheers

'Numbers From the Beast': give it a shot !

Men of different tastes. Don't worry. I see your point with 'Food For Thought'. I also love it. But it's a totally different kind of tribute. With 'Numbers from the Beast', we know that the song would be revisited by metal bands and my expectations were set there. With 'Food for Thought' or...
