Blaze Bayley Survivor finished: Stare At The Sun wins again

Re: Blaze Bayley Survivor FINAL BATTLE: Ghost vs. Stare (Feb 5-6) He's visited Finland in 2008, 2009 and 2010 at least, so I'm fairly confident I'll see Blaze live within a year or so.  I'll pay attention. ;) As for my vote: Ghost in the Machine.

    Amon Amarth

I liked Oden slightly more than Twilight, but both are superb albums.  I'm quite anticipated about this album, and the new song rocks as well. :rocker:

Blaze Bayley Survivor finished: Stare At The Sun wins again

Re: Blaze Bayley Survivor: Top Ten #3 (Feb 3-4) Different country, different audiences maybe?  It is of course possible that I remember wrong.  It's a great song, but off the top of my head I could name about 10 Blaze songs that I personally like more, as well as all the regular Maiden songs he...

EW said it about Metallica well, though I also can't accept "happy and high vocals=power metal".  By that definition, even a lot of Maiden songs are power metal. Sorry, this made me laugh; you managed to mispell all but the most famous of those names.

Blaze Bayley Survivor finished: Stare At The Sun wins again

Re: Blaze Bayley Survivor: Top Ten #5 (Jan 30-31) I've seen it twice, and neither time did it really strike me as exceptional to me or the crowd.  A lot of songs got a more positive reaction.  I must admit I'm very surprised it made this far, I didn't know people liked it so much.

Blind Guardian Survivor finished: Time Stands Still wins

Re: Blind Guardian Survivor FINAL BATTLE: Time Stands Still vs. Silence (Feb 4-5) And Then There Was Silence.  Time Stands Still isn't near Blind Guardian's best song (possibly top 10 though), but it's still better than Silence.

Iced Earth Survivor finished: Heaven defeats Hell

Re: Iced Earth Survivor FINAL BATTLE: Inferno vs. Question (Feb 4-5) A Question of Heaven.  The only real concurrents for Dante would be the Something Wicked and Gettysburg trilogies (the whole trilogies, not individual songs).

    When the Wild Wind Blows

The Man Who Would Be King From the first times I heard this song, I saw the references to the media as the couple's paranoia, not the media actually being like that.  This idea from paranoia mainly comes from the end result (mistaking the earthquake for the fallout) and it's probably false, but...

Compile one album out of the last four!

    1. The Wicker Man: Maiden almost always start an album with a rocker, and this is possibly the best rocker from the reunion era. 2. These Colours Don't Run: Most of the best second tracks are semi-epics (Revelations, Infinite Dreams, Children of the Damned, Remember Tomorrow), and this is one of...

    Judas Be My Guide

Re: Daily Song: Judas Be My Guide It's a solid track, but still quite forgettable.  I disagree with mckindog in that it's not quite among Maiden's excellent rockers, though.  A solid 7.

    Blaze vs Paul

Blaze, definitely.  His voice doesn't annoy me, he has done some great albums during his solo career, and is a superb frontman as well (solo, dunno with Maiden).
