Album covers: alternate versions, different Eddies?

Just checked my Japanese 2CD, and mine at least had the OG dissection cover.

Album covers: alternate versions, different Eddies?

I posted this in another thread a week or so ago, but there were versions released with the electric chair cover as THE cover. The dissection cover isn't in the booklet at all. I'm pretty sure I got my copy of it from BMG.

    50th Anniversary Documentary Announcement

100% agree. It's weird...as Maiden official have pretty much given up on a few of the expected things (live albums/DVDs), it's also strangely a golden age for licensed products. I've been a kid in a candy store buying up all the stuff I've wished they'd come out with when I had way more...

    50th Anniversary Documentary Announcement

That's what's boggling my mind about them fully producing Donington 2007, possibly an Early Days live album, and at this point a Future Past live album(?) and just sitting on them as physical media continues to swirl further down the crapper year after year. They're losing potential (monetary)...

    Bruce Dickinson

I guess it depends on how in-depth the remixed version of BtP is. For example, the 2001 remaster had the bonus disc with all the previously released B-Sides from the Keith Olsen album and the Skin sessions. If we get something like that again, then it's possible Original Sin could make an...

    50th Anniversary Documentary Announcement

If I were a documentarian working on a doc about Maiden, I'd dedicate a good chunk to the nineties. Why? Because Maiden's history, by and large, has very little drama in it. Yes, there's Eggfest (which is nobody's fault except Bruce's big mouth and Sharon's childish retaliation), and yes, they...

@Kalata's reply to me above (in the spoiler section) has Nightmares down in the 2014 sessions category as for when. The rest, as far as I know, is completely up in the air. It may well have been reworked into a song on Mandrake. If his supposition that Nightmares was from 2014 is correct and...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

I do like that Maiden has gotten more DaVinci Code-y in giving you a puzzle to solve in predicting things these past years, so it could very well be a significant hint that Infinite Dreams is coming back. I think it's just my natural skepticism winning out when looking at how long the song's...

Wrathchild (History Mix featuring every member 1975-2025)

Just watched it, and I'll reiterate the comment I made on the video: someone needs to get this to Maiden HQ. It's more than worthy enough to get shared by their official social media as part of their 50th Anniversary celebration. Other bands do it all the time. Oh, and you said above making...

    18th Studio Album discussion

This was what I was hoping for during the lockdown, using the downtime to get way ahead of things and put an extra album or two in the bank writing-wise that they could record in one larger recording session. But, that's the selfish fan in me that always wants more and forgets these are fairly...

    Which is the Worst Eddie?

Totally agree--I've always loved the Virtual XI art apart from the football pitch (fair point by @srfc, since I don't like football either) and the fact nobody plays a game with the console sitting on their lap. That album had a lot of great art around it, too, I thought. The Riggs Futureal art...

Ah, I was foolishly thinking that the telltale sound of his post-cancer voice meant Resurrection was new, when the song could've easily existed in demo form that was re-recorded later. NIghtmares is turning into the new Original Sin, it seems, a song I've always been curious about. I've heard...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

I'll believe it when I see it. Infinite Dreams is a song they've willfully ignored for 37 years, and it's a photography book we're talking about. A cool item no doubt, but not a terribly big deal in the grand scheme of Maiden releases. I see it as another part of the 50th celebration, not...

Am I assuming correctly that the two new are Resurrection Men and Rain, the 2 old being Sonata and Shadow?

IRON MAIDEN: 'Infinite Dreams - The Official Visual History' Book Due In The Fall

I dunno...if they were fine releasing LotB: NotD with how Bruce sounded, I can't imagine Nicko's drumming would stop them from releasing a Future Past live album. Not to mention the old "What Are We Doing This For?" official photography book that came out in the late '80s.

    Which is the Worst Eddie?

Not only that, but it was the "censored" cover as well. I have a copy I bought from BMG, I believe, that only has the electric chair cover.

    Which is the Worst Eddie?

I like that they tried doing something different with the sculpture and everything for TXF, but I tend to agree. I'm not a fan of the full-frontal shot they used for the album cover, but I do like the angled view with the more shadowy lighting they used for the Man on the Edge single. Pretty...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Daughter was a very calculated hit--not a "hit" in the traditional sense, and the band admits this. They released it around Christmas--which was a dead time to release a single back then--and issued it in multiple formats knowing the fan base would likely buy them all. That was the plan to snag...

    Bruce Dickinson

I got floor for Minneapolis. Hard to say if he's overreaching with the venue sizes, but it's a little bit apples and oranges compared to the last time he toured the States. In '97, metal was not in, Maiden was at a low point, and I saw them at a tiny club called the Cabooze. Now, metal's much...

    Bruce Dickinson

I'll be going to the Minneapolis show 100%. Never been to the venue, but I'm sure it's a step up from last time he was here in 1997 at the Cabooze, where I was up front and dodging Brucie's menacing crotch anytime he jumped up on the monitors. :ahhh: To paint a word picture, I'm 6'3", Bruce...
