RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

He's come right out and said tuning down is "not authentic." Love Bruce and all, but jeebus...set your ego aside and open your ears. You're not in your twenties anymore. Nobody expects you to hit the same high notes, and most would rather you didn't try.

    Brag Thread

Never too late! I tried something similar with comics trying to get one off the ground. Back in 2016(ish), I wrote a side story for my series that a friend and artist was going to help make into a comic. That went nowhere, so I turned it into a novella for my first short works collection. In...

    Brag Thread

My win this weekend was tabling my first convention of the year. Not sure I mentioned this anywhere else since it isn't relevant to Maiden, but I self-publish a non-traditional fantasy series called the Odyssium series. Don't worry, 99.99999% of the world hasn't heard of it either. I didn't...

    Iron Maiden’s compilation albums

Yep, I've got a Mega-Best of the Beast playlist on my iPod, which basically takes the 4LP tracklist and takes an educated guess on what would appear on it from the post-TXF set of albums based on how songs were chosen for it the original, not my own preference of songs. ...it clocks in at 5...

Simon Dawson is the new drummer

I was hopeful Nicko would drum on a possible future album, even with his lessened abilities. Now, I'm kind of hoping playing with Simon reinvigorates their creative juices a bit and drives them to want to make a new album. So far, Steve's been pretty noncommittal on the possibility of a new...

    Blaze Bayley

Honestly, it's a win-win for the Appletons to have hooked up with him, especially in these challenging times for small bands. Absolva plays their gigs and makes some money, and then those guys go out and do Blaze shows and make some more money. Very savvy move, and hugely beneficial to Blaze as...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

I'm the same--I was looking forward to seeing what they had and then...CG Eddie? But looking at the size and scope of the screen, it was probably the evolution Eddie would eventually take at some point. I like it a lot, can't be mad at it, and it's genuinely impressive from some of those first...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

For the express purpose of putting Fear of the Dark in the setlist. No other reason, and I knew that would be the case. I was 50/50 on whether NPFTD as a whole would get the shaft, but was fairly certain FotD was going to be the only song off that album. That said, the setlist is pretty...

Simon Dawson is the new drummer

From the clips I've seen, I thought he did great. I will say, it's weird as hell actually seeing the Iron Maiden drummer during a show, though. Just not used to it what with 41 years of Nicko setting up a drum store on the riser.

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Wasn't Bruce fresh off his second hip replacement at the start of Future Past? I remember noticing he was incredibly static (for him) in videos from early on in the tour, and read that was the explanation. His mobility was night and day, it seemed, when looking at 2023's leg and 2024's leg.

Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

As @Helmuth Von Moltke said above, his Listen With Nicko stuff from the First Ten Years box set (and after, apparently) leans heavily on humor that doesn't fly these days. A handful of gay jokes, over-the-top stereotypical accents, etc. I get that he comes from a very old school era when nothing...

Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

If you didn't like them when you were younger and probably had a less refined sense of humor, I probably wouldn't bother trying again nowadays. I used to think they were funny, now it's a little grating with the constant Monty Python-speak and cringey jokes.

Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

I listened to all 11 of them a few weeks ago, and yeah...it wouldn't fly. I'm sure he's toned down a lot of the...let's say off-color jokes and whatnot over the years, so maybe a podcast or something like that might be worth considering. I don't really see them doing it, though, mainly because...

Simon Dawson is the new drummer

While I like the idea in theory that Nick will be the official drummer and this is the final "official" lineup, it all depends on where they go from here. If they record with Simon, Simon should be the replacement, not just a live fill-in drummer. I'd have no problem if Nick did a couple tracks...

Iron Maiden's management: What went wrong?

I've mentioned it a couple times. The information was taken from interviews with Steve during the Dance of Death cycle when I used to obsessively scrapbook such things. The weight of his bass had been determined the cause of spinal compression, and that's when they decided to cut back on the...

Iron Maiden's management: What went wrong?

I've mentioned this elsewhere in the forum, but who the hell knows where. Interviews at the time had Steve mentioning that the Dance of Death tour would be hitting only bigger markets, especially in the US, due to serious back problems due to the weight of his bass throughout the years. That was...

    Bruce Dickinson

Since he's already announced a new producer for the new album and he's demoing songs with a new band and has barely mentioned Roy in interviews in the last year or so, I'd say the odds are slim at best. There's enough evidence to suggest he's moved on from Roy.
