LEGACY OF THE BEAST WORLD TOUR 2022 - **CONTAINS SPOILERS**

I know the tour is nearing its end but I am beyond excited that my show is finally almost here. I'll be seeing the Washington, DC show on Sunday. Fun fact - this is the first time the band has ever played in Washington, DC. They've frequently played in the DC area (Northern Virginia or...

Best song contest - Round 1, Part 14

I voted for The Longest Day - it's been my favorite since the album first came out and remains so today. That being said, there are others that are very close - For the Greater Good of God, Brighter Than a Thousand Suns and Out of the Shadows. A Matter of Life and Death truly is an amazing...

    Senjutsu - 20 Months Later

I've been doing a discography run through after the initial Senjutsu shine wore off and I took a small Maiden break. Album still holds up for me, since everyone is ranking for some reason, mine is - 1. A Matter of Life and Death 2. Senjutsu 3. The Book of Souls 4. Dance of Death 5. Brave...

    Senjutsu - 20 Months Later

I too took a long break after borderline overplaying it shortly after release, and was pleasantly surprised at how much I still like it. I think I'd slate it behind AMOLAD when it comes to my favorite reunion era material. Time will tell how it ages (both Book of Souls and to a far greater...

LEGACY OF THE BEAST WORLD TOUR 2022 - **CONTAINS SPOILERS**

Send ‘em home happy with the classics at the end. Ahh I truly have missed the incessant set list moaning life has balance again. I dig this set - it ushers in new songs and doesn’t feel like the umpteenth leg of a tour that ended nearly 3 years ago.

    Sabaton

From what I gather from reading the Sabaton sub-Reddit - Nuclear Blast decided to make Sarajevo an exclusive to physical releases. Apparently, it's basically a companion piece to Versailles. Now, the art of reserving an opening track of a theme album to outdated formats is...an interesting...

    Bruce Dickinson

Started around 7:40 on Tuesday night. He comes on about mid-way through "Born in '58" playing over the PA for what it's worth.

    23 years ago today

I kind of always figured Bruce would come back at some point, but for me, the real huge news that day was that Adrian was also returning. The last 23 years really have been a gift. Back in 1999 I figured we'd get a tour and maybe an album. Many tours and 6 albums later I could not be more...

    Bruce Dickinson

Saw Bruce in DC on Tuesday night and it was a great time. I hadn't been paying any attention to his spoken word tour (mostly because I assumed I'd never get to see it), but I had a blast. He easily filled 2+ hours of time with funny and insightful stories. I fill like he could have easily...

Please post reviews and thoughts on Senjutsu here

Magazine covers are an awfully funny thing to use as a success metric in 2021 (where very few people read magazines for the most part). There, I was reeled in. Off to the mists now I go.

Please post reviews and thoughts on Senjutsu here

I've been basically binging on Sentjutsu since it came out nearly a month ago (seriously, holy shit does time fly), and am going to take a break for awhile and then come back. That will really illuminate how I feel about the album as a whole. After a month of solid listening, I still really...

Someone edits Senjutsu and posts it on YouTube

Doesn't piss me off because it's not like it's replacing the original or anything. Listened for a few seconds, the title track is laughably too fast. Why is fast = automatically good? I don't get it.

To me, this is literally what The Parchment is. Ok song as is but could have been incredible if it was at least 5 minutes shorter. Oddly enough, it's the only song on the album that I feel is too long.

How old were you when you started listening to Maiden and which 3 albums did you buy first?

I started listening to Maiden in 1990 when I was 12. First albums I heard - 1. No Prayer For The Dying - probably why I rate this higher than most, it was my first as I picked out the most recent release at the time. 2. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son - my favorite album of all time 3...

Please post reviews and thoughts on Senjutsu here

At this point, even though I am still struggling a bit with the Parchment, I'd agree. In CD terms I'd say this one is the opposite of Book of Souls for me. On BOS I liked disc 1 way more than disc 2. On Senjutsu I like disc 2 more than disc 1. I am still in total love with this album so...

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

I know we all kind of were surprised at no Murray writing credits on Senjutsu and I just kind of realized how weird it was to not have one of his trademark melodic guitar driven intros. That being said, I haven't loved the last few tunes like this on TFF and BOS so it's probably for the best.

    Senjutsu

I assume there are walls in feudal era Japan that could have been breached by invaders from the north? It's been so long since my Japanese history class in college I really don't know. You say Great Wall (and I know this was the working title based on Kevin's document he posted to Facebook)...

    Senjutsu charts position

Regardless of where it charts in the US, I more than did my part - CD version CD book version Black Vinyl version Silver Vinyl version iTunes download Assuming those all count equally of course.

    Hell On Earth

Hell on Earth - 10/10 - This is my favorite song on the entire album. It reminds me a great deal of When the Wild Wind Blows, but like way way waaaaaaay better. I like the melodies and variation more, there's lots of cool sections. Does the intro need that much build up? Probably not. But I feel...

    The Parchment

The Parchment - 7/10 - I struggle with this song, I really do. I love it when I'm blasting it as it really reminds me of a combination of The Nomad and To Tame a Land. My issue really is that it's one pace for far too long and I just don't find it that memorable yet. Maybe it'll grow on me, who...
