    Round 8: New Clear Assault!

An easy vote for Testament, a less easy, but not too hard, vote for Sabbat. I'm not the biggest lover of Sabbat but Kreator does not work for me at all.

Maidenfans Best Album of The Millennium: 2002 FINAL ROUND

Definitely going to vote to staple The Odyssey to the top of the list. Other selections: Blind Guardian, Pain of Salvation, Rhapsody, Opeth.

Nah, you're just 40 and surrounded by people the same age.

You're certainly allowed to make fun of various public figures if you see fit, as long as it's not driving the conversation down a rabbit hole of yelling back and forth, or in the case of Iron Maiden, going to make a moderator invoke the RLonger rule for lessening overall enjoyment. However...

    Round 8: New Clear Assault!

I had to listen, but I got in a vote.

    18th Studio Album discussion

It was good but it was not "playing on an Iron Maiden album good" imo. Missing the power and some of the speed. Clearly he'll be a lot more functional on an album where there's no tour, etc, but you're waiting for good days now...

Then it's not at all, because he won't be able to play properly.

My honest guess is that nobody in the band has committed to Maiden past end of RFYL at this stage, and they will likely have a meeting near the end of RFYL (on one side or the other) to decide next steps. Do they want to do an album, do they want to do another legacy tour, do they want to take a...

As long as they also go big in Canada, because I'm not crossing the border, even for Maiden.

    Janick's role in post-reunion Maiden

I love that we're still re-iterating Janick's place in the band he's been in for 35 of its 50 years.

How many Iron Maiden live songs have you witnessed at (an) Iron Maiden gig(s)

Running Free Phantom of the Opera Iron Maiden x14 Wrathchild x4 Children of the Damned x6 The Prisoner x5 The Number of the Beast x10 Run to the Hills x4 Hallowed Be Thy Name x5 Where Eagles Dare x2 Revelations x3 Flight of Icarus x3 The Trooper x14 Aces High x3 2 Minutes to Midnight x3...

Other barriers I foresee to Album #18: 1) Age. While Nick's retirement has led to an option on age for him to be replaced on the album, in part or in whole, the other band members continue to age. The #1 threat here is likely Dave, and it's tough for me to imagine Maiden going to a 2 piece with...

Mamdani was directly responding to someone calling him a Communist about his policy of 100% housing. The clip is out of context and does not accurately represent his views, which is a government mandate to house every unhoused person. You can call that socialist, but it is not Marxism. Global...

    NOW WATCHING

I really loved S1 and S2 of SNW, the best Star Trek show since DS9 and it's not particularly close. I have finally finished watching Cobra Kai, which was a surprisingly great tv show based on an incredibly silly premise. Basically anyone who was ever in the first three Karate Kid movies shows...

Maidenfans Best Albums of the Millenium: 2001

I voted for Opeth, which I concur deserves to win this year by a mile, although I have a lot of time for Horror Show. Which has weaknesses, but remains one of my more favourite Iced Earth albums.

    NOW PLAYING

Listening for Mosh's 25 in 25 power ranking. I don't think I've listened to this in 10 years or more and I forgot how much it is *exactly* my jam. Banger after fucking banger track. I have tickets for November and now I can't wait.

I think there's a better possibility of Album 18 now than, say, six months ago. While I expect Nicko to do some drum work on a new album, the vast majority of it would be handled by his permanent tour replacement. Listening to his playing with his cover band, he can do some simplistic stuff but...

    Favourite Iron Maiden Epic (1980-1992)

One day we should actually come up with a definition of "epic" and put it in the rules.

BLACK SABBATH DISCOGRAPHY RANKING GAME: #10 REVEALED

I rank it very low as a result. There's some okay moments but yeah, not my favourite. Maybe second or third last.
