ahh thanks for referring me to ironmaidencommentary. That is exactly what I'm looking for. A time stamp and a name associated with each solo.
The amount of work put into ironmaidencommentary is impressive. Kudos to all involved with that site.
Why is Adrian Smith nicknamed H?
It is an abbreviation on his first name, because when spoken fast in the Cockney dialect, it sounds like H-rian.
haha a strange way to originate a nickname.
I'm going to ask what I feel is a "stupid question". I haven't been listening to Maiden long enough to have a vast knowledge, but when IM has as many as three guitarists on some albums, how exactly can I tell who performed what solo?
I know if I watched the song live, I could see the camera pan...
If you're a fan of metalcore, I recommend that you check out the Dutch female-fronted band, The Charm The Fury. They're amazing and I can't wait for them to release a new album. It has the potential to be a really good one if they expand on their great debut album, "A Shade of My Former Self"...
So I just watched the Stranger in a Strange Land music video. I now appreciate that song more thanks to the video. Bruce and Adrian's passion in it sold it to me. Until I stopped to see Adrian shredding it, I never realized how good that solo really is.
I will also say two things. Bruce's long...
Exactly how I feel. Sea of Madness, Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner and Deja Vu are my top 3 songs on this album. The entire album has great songs throughout though. It's like arguing what's a 10 and what's a 9.
There's not a filler song on this album and that's the first time it's...
It's funny because I think Deja Vu is a better song than Stranger and Alex, but that's just my opinion. It just stands out to me more. It's probably Bruce's vocals and the guitars.
I love Deja Vu. I can see how some may not like it, but it's one of the top songs of the album to me. I also love The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner. Superb song in every possible way. I can't commit, but this might be my favorite IM album so far. It's the only one with all 8 songs being...
I am still "digesting" this album, but wow is it a good one. It is 1986 and this album definitely feels like the peak of the 1980s in its synthesizer sound. That's a good thing as far as I'm concerned though.
I love the time travel theme of the album and most, if not all, of its songs seem to...
Yes I am experiencing this "issue" when I'm listening to each album. The artwork of the album gives me something to day dream about while listening to the music. That's not something most rock albums give you. I am currently listening to Somewhere in Time and imagining the futuristic...
This is right up there with NOTB as the two best albums thus far for me. When you have 7 of the 8 songs being 9's at worst, that shows how strong the album is. A fun listen every time. The guitars, bruce's vocals. Perfect.
I love the egyptian theme of most of the album and artwork.
Piece of Mind was a solid follow up to the great Number of the Beast. It started strong, remained so throughout it's middle, but did fizzle out slightly near the back end of the album.
I read that To Tame a Land was originally supposed to be named Dune, after the famous novel. The author of...
Bonus tracks I noticed were missing from these new itunes versions of the albums. Thank goodness I bought at least the first five when I did. I'm bummed I hadn't gotten to the other 10 yet.
Iron Maiden - Sanctuary
Killers - Twilight Zone
The Number of the Beast - Total Eclipse
It also looks...
So i discovered this yesterday while at work and I'm already 5 albums in. I will say i'm mildly annoyed that the versions I have so far from itunes are what are likely the 1998 remasters. They sound fine, but the mastered for itunes albums are always cool and are the same price.
However, I...
