    Can I Play With Madness?

I will give this an 8/10. It is probably the weakest song on SSoaSS, but it still a solid, radio friendly affair nonetheless.

    Infinite Dreams

I love this song. It's atmosphere is great and one of many great guitar solos throughout this album. 10/10

    Moonchild

An excellent intro and the guitars are wailing! Bruce kicks it off with a bang. A great start to a great album. 10/10

    Alexander the Great

I have to admit, the epics on some of the later albums haven't been nearly as good. Hallowed Be Thy Name and Rime of the Ancient Mariner set the bar so high that songs like Alexander the Great just don't compare. I'm not the biggest fan of the lyrics or bruce's vocals in this one, but the...

    Deja Vu

The best filler song I've heard yet from IM. How can one not like this song? More oustanding singing by Bruce and guitar work to match. 10/10 I love listening to this every time.

    Stranger in a Strange Land

Stranger in a Strange Land has the misfortune of following up Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner. That's not even fair. This is a great song that had to grow on me over several listens. I imagine Ed walking into a space bar and killing someone, like the image on the single. More great...

The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner

10/10. The best song on this album. You're crazy if you don't like this song. Guitar work and vocals are all outstanding.

    Heaven Can Wait

This may be my "least" favorite song on the album, but compared to the filler songs on most albums, it is great. The chorus is a bit repetitive/annoying and that may be its worst quality that holds it back. This song is also faster than most songs on this album and it bothers me for some reason...

    Sea of Madness

One of the top songs on the album. An instant classic when it hit my ears. Amazing solo and great, catchy chorus. 10/10

    Wasted Years

Along with Revelations, this song is another very popular song that I feel is great, but not GREAT. Due to the fact that I don't immediately feel it is one of the stronger songs on the album, I can't vote more than a 9/10. Adrian's guitar solo is amazing in this song.

    Caught Somewhere In Time

This album is probably my favorite from start to finish, all songs considered.... so far. This song starts it off in grand fashion. I imagine the city that Ed is hunting in in the future. A blade runner-esque dystopia. I see him walk down a dark alley, having to look over his shoulder. The fact...

WHY did they strip-down the sound for No Prayer??

Holy Smoke reminds me of AC/DC. Hooks in You and Bring Your Daughter sounds like generic glam metal fair.

WHY did they strip-down the sound for No Prayer??

    I guess Glam/Hair Metal might've been a better term.

WHY did they strip-down the sound for No Prayer??

No Prayer is the most recent album I've purchased, in order, and I've listened to it a fair amount to start commenting on it. They very clearly wanted to follow in the footsteps of other glam rock bands that were ironically influenced by bands like Iron Maiden. They wanted to be another late...

Favorite Maiden Live Album (2010 Edition, voting closed)

I'm an avid digital music purchaser if it is available. There's just something convenient about not having to deal with physical media taking up space in your house after you've loaded it on your computer and devices. It looks like BBC Archives and Beast over Hammersmith aren't on itunes. They...

    New posters! Who are you?

I couldn't think of where else to put this, so I decided to put it in this thread since we were talking about the live albums. Are there any non-studio IM albums that you recommend. I am interested to know if there are any versions of Bruce singing Paul or Blaze songs, or Blaze singing any Paul...

No Prayer for the Dying could have been Amazing

I'm still absorbing this album, but here are some of my early thoughts. First, it's not a good album. It's maybe average. I will say though, if this is the "worst" maiden album, well then it just shows how good they really are. It has a handful of decent to good songs. Maybe two very bad songs...

Maiden Songs That Are Growing On You

I hated it upon first listen, but as I'm listening more and more to NPFTD, Holy Smoke is really growing on me. It's silly but fun. It's an attempt to sound like AC/DC, not that they necessarily needed to do that.

    Lamb of God

After Randy Blythe's trial in Prague for manslaughter charges, Lamb of God is releasing their first album in five years and I expect it to be rife with emotion after his scary legal issues. They released a new single today and it's the same ole LoG I know and love. Being a Virginian, it's...

Studio Album #16 - Rumours and Speculation (New Info 27.02.15)

I agree that the "finishing touches" are probably post-production and marketing.
