If I remember the Listen With Nickos correctly, he was already doing drum solos during other shows. Steve sent the guy to have Nicko extend his solo so Steve could fix his bass strings (or whatever it was), which caused the solo fuck-up.

Same. Not to mention, for 99% of the show, you don't even see Nicko, because he's buried behind a 10,000-piece drum kit.
