Since I've been stuck on it lately, I think an AWESOME cover would be Sabbath's "Mob Rules." Sounds like a range that Bruce would be comfortable in, the three-axe-attack of the current lineup would make it a wall of sound, and it's a kick ass song anyway. I'd pay to hear it.
The bass player rule is pretty good. I would add to that if you buy a band/singer's new album without knowing anything about it, simply because it's new and by that particular artist (although, depending on your degree of fandom, you could have known about the new album for months and obsessed...
Bold, but interesting. As I've posted elsewhere, I'd love to see Run Silent Run Deep and Public Enema Number One live. I even think Holy Smoke and Tailgunner would be great live. I'd go see this, and then get beer during the title track, Fates Warning, and Mother Russia.

Agree here. Has the same kind of driving guitar pyrotechnics as Dance of Death that makes me find it irresistible. But the repetition wears after a while. Almost sounds like a BNW track.
I agree with this, even though it's not their best album IMHO. I really agree with the bridge comment, too. I think NOTB has the right mix of short and long, aggressive and complex, to hook a new fan. The only worry I'd have is the title track, which I find cheesy. I might say then either Piece...
