    Fortunes of War

Meh. It’s not a terrible song, it’s nice at the start, but then it doesn’t really go very far. Blaze sounds quite boring (and bored) on this one. 5/10

    Man on the Edge

I think it might be the single Maiden song that fits Blaze’s singing best, and it’s a very energetic rocker. Lyrics kinda suck though. 7/10

    Lord of the Flies

A good song, but nothing too incredible about it. Bruce’s version has some highs and lows, although I prefer his voice. 7/10

    Sign of the Cross

Not an easy song to rate at all. The first times I listened to the studio version I thought it was really boring. What really got me into this song, and I suspect it might be the case with several others, was the Rock In Rio version, that is really outrageously good. I’m going to be honest and...

    Fear of the Dark

Fear of the Dark is always among the best songs in any given concert, and it’s no coincidence. Some people complain about overplaying, but looking at the results it would be stupid for them to not play this one. The studio version is great too though, it’s just that because of the way the song...

    Weekend Warrior

Vocals are absolutely god awful, and there’s nothing notable about the rest. 3/10

    Judas Be My Guide

7/10. It’s a good song, although if compared to the previous and the next on the album, it sounds like an absolute masterpiece.

    The Apparition

Horrible, just horrible. This is worse than The Assassin. It might not reach the same level of annoyingness, but it’s a nonsensical song. You can’t expect to release a song without a tune and get away with it. A band like them should be able to make up something better right there on the spot...

    Chains of Misery

An uninteresting song, coupled with an annoying chorus. Not much else really. 4/10

    The Fugitive

It’s a decent song, the chorus is nice and catchy, but it gets quite repetitive towards the end. 6/10

    Wasting Love

A very good one, even though it’s not exactly a typical Maiden song. Bruce’s vocals work very well in my opinion, and they match quite emotional lyrics. Janick’s solo is great too. 8/10

    Childhood's End

An enjoyable and quite emotional song. 7/10

    Fear is the Key

Weird song. It has some cool riffs and it starts off nice, but then everything gets confusing. 5/10

    Afraid to Shoot Strangers

A great song. The emotional lyrics clearly refer to the Gulf War, but they’re still pretty timeless, as they could probably describe any war with human involvement. Great riffs and solos too. 9/10

    From Here To Eternity

It’s most definitely not a “good” song, but at the same time, it is undeniably catchy. 6/10

    Be Quick or Be Dead

A very good energetic opener, with great solos too. 8/10, could be a 9 with slightly less repetitive lyrics

    Mother Russia

This album’s ‘epic’ song is a very creative piece of music, and like all of the trademark Harris epics, it definitely has several moments of genius. However, it misses something to make it a truly great song. It’s enjoyable, for sure, but it could have been better. 7/10

Bring Your Daughter… …To the Slaughter

The lyrics might not be the best like in most of this album, but they fit better than in other tracks, and the whole song is entertaining and good fun live. 7/10

    Hooks In You

Terrible lyrics once again, but it's a quite catchy and enjoyable song. 6/10

    Run Silent Run Deep

Another very underrated song. I love it, from the bass intro to the very end. They really should have tried it live. 9/10
