    Hallowed Be Thy Name

Simply one of the greatest pieces of music ever written. It's an absolute masterpiece that stands up you anything composed by the great writers of any genre. The clever structure, haunting atmosphere (which is the song's true virtue), stunning vocals, exhilarating riffs. The thumping rhythm...

    Invaders

It's definitely grown on me. Thought it was dreadful the first listen and the chorus is still a bit silly. But it's redeemed by some outstanding work by Clive and some nice solos. It would potentially be great if it wasnt for the vocal to be honest. 6

    Gangland

Reminds me of some of the mundane stuff on Killers. Good tempo, nothing to hate but no character to the song at all. Not really worthy of being on this great album 6

    Total Eclipse

Quite an underrated song this. I like the subtle changes in tempo and Bruce is brilliant on this. But otherwise nothing much stands out. Just makes a 7 7

    Run to the Hills

Yes it's a bit over familiar but if you remove that perception and just concentrate on the music, it's bloody brilliant. The music matches the lyrics so well, the gallop is brilliant and the chorus is probably the strongest of all the early Maiden albums. An easy 9

    Wrathchild

Raw and aggressive. Must have been electrifying live at the time but I can't say I love it. 6

    The Ides of March

Ah I like it but its just too short to be ranked alongside other Maiden tracks on a serious basis so it only gets 5

    Murders in the Rue Morgue

Absolutely loved this when I first heard it but it's worn off over time. Pretty exciting track in places but the chorus just becomes too repetitive. 7. Just.

    Another Life

One of the best choruses on the album. Brilliant drums. Chugs along nicely and is fun but it could be one of about 4 or 5 on Killers which are a bit 'meh'. 6

    Purgatory

Probably the worst song on the album. 5
  12. B

    Twilight Zone

A bit forgettable. Honestly can't think what it's like until I play it. When I do it's....ok. 5

    Killers

The best song on the album definitely. Brilliant intro, great hook, superb vocals from Paul and distinctive galloping bass. 7

    Drifter

Love the bass riff in this and quite nice chorus. Pretty run of the mill like much of the album in other respects though. 6
  15. B

    Innocent Exile

Quite like the funk element on this and good catchy guitarwork. Stands out more than some other tracks on the album. 6
  16. B

    Genghis Khan

I'd really love to be able to appreciate the instrumentals that others seem to enjoy so much. I do enjoy the climax to this though and prefer the whole thing to Transylvania. 6
  17. B

    Prodigal Son

Can't get into this at all. Starts out like the theme tune to television snooker and becomes like an Ocean Colour Scene track. Deserves some credit for being quite unique and a nice melody. 5

    Iron Maiden

Hard to add much to what others have said. It's repetitive and over played which probably affects our perception. Overall not a bad song though 6

    Strange World

Fair play to them for going in a different direction. I do really like the guitar work but they came up with much better 'slow' songs in years to come. 5
