    Judas Priest

The most I've enjoyed a JP album in 40 years. Miss the duelling leads but Richie's playing is well tasty. Unclear of the machine/human ratio, probably bad like everything else nowadays, but considering the health scares I'm more than happy this even exists. It's a belter. Roll on London with Saxon.

I can't hear the vocals much. What I'm here for.

An adverse reaction to a phony painkiller? Sad to see. Get well soon. Loving KK's Priest. Nice switching of gears with great playing/sound throughout. Much prefer to Firepower which, apart from Firepower and Heroes, was very tame.

Countdown to Senjutsu. 17 albums in 17 days.

Senjutsu. The first four reunion albums were generally like a good square meal, not the gourmet delights of the '80's fine cuisine, but solid and enjoyable enough, whereas Book was the equivalent of a bowl of gruel. Senjutsu feels like a bag of Skittles, or a box of chocolates! After the...

Please post reviews and thoughts on Senjutsu here

I'm really enjoying this album, a fun and entertaining listen all the way through. But the Smith songs don't sound like Maiden. The Bruce ones are dead ringers for Bruce's solo stuff and the collaboration with Harris, title track Senjutsu, is Judas Priest(of all people)-Nostradamus era. I can...

@DJMayes Don't feel bad about my opinion. I'm glad you like BOS, but I just can't.

The Book of Souls. Like the R101, a shiny edifice of Titanic proportions that's full of hot air, promises the earth then lets you down. Some tracks start well but fall apart halfway(Eternity, Book, Unknown). Others never get off the ground. The last time I played Empire was on 45rpm. Still...

The Final Frontier. I bet they got the title from that joke, “How many ears does Dr. Spock have?” I love this one, a top 6 for me, my favorite reunion album. Frontier chorus gets stuck in my head. Adore El Dorado. All instruments and voice are in concert. Great three lead split, the pomp, pomp...

A Matter of Life and Death. starring Nicko's drums. That cover reminds me of a dream I once had. I recently voted this above Dance of Death, but I was wrong as I prefer Dance. Love Colours, Breeg and, my favorite, Lord. Suns and Pilgrim are always enjoyed. Longest Day has a nice build up and...

Dance of Death. I remember going into HMV Norwich and buying the pic disc and cd on the day. A year later I got the DVD-A, but today I'm playing the cd. Charlotte and Eddie: A love story. I continuously underestimate this album, a pivotal record in the discography. It's taken almost 18 years for...

Brave New World. Another cover that depicts my life at the time as I was living in London. Working in the financial sector, close to the river, down from St. Paul's and Blackfriars – I'm sure the building's visible in the picture. Also, I began posting on the official bb(Eddie in the sky) and I...

Virtual XI. I bought the cd late, in 2002!, after Brave New World. I think I gave it a try after hearing The Clansman on Rock In Rio. If The X Factor was suited to teenage goths, this must've been squarely aimed at the preteens. It sounds incredibly lightweight. About the repetition, I think...

The X Factor. I bought this late in the winter of '97/'98, unfunnily enough after a recent split with a girlfriend. So, feeling like shit, Harris and co work to make me feel even worse(it's probably deserved). If this late acquirement didn't constitute me as being ex-Maiden, I certainly became...

Fear of the Dark. We're into the double vinyls and there's a feminization to the sound, complete with Def Leppard snare and touchy feely lyrics about love 'n' stuff. No wonder my 1992 self, thrashing out to Pantera and the like, baulked. Nowadays it's a fun listen, mostly enjoyable, although I...

No Prayer for the Dying. I love this record, but it wasn't always like that. In 1990, although I liked the songs, this felt like a big comedown from their previous output. Gone was the pomp and grandeur of the more recent albums, replaced with a more street level attitude. But around 15 years...

Seventh Son A fantastic record of eight excellent songs. Another great 'play along with guitar' album, partly why I enjoy The Prophecy so much. I rate this around 4th on my list, but I may be seriously underestimating because listening now, apart from the dated synths, it feels flawless. I've...

Somewhere In Time Maiden Towers' elevator music. Maiden's easy listening album. The music that's so smooth it runs over your soul without any rough edges to key into. I'm not a fan of this one. Maybe that's being a bit harsh as it's a pretty, pleasant enough listen. I was leaning guitar in 1986...
