Many people dislike the Kevin Shirley produced Maiden albums, so do I. So I thought it might be interesting to have a discussion and hear opinions. Here we go.
What do you have to criticize the most about his productions?
Yes, agreed.
And THIS btw is one of the main reasons I'm sure there will be one more studio album: The band themselves are pretty much aware that Senjutsu isn't the big strike, and definitely too bad (or call it weak, if that sounds less harsh) for an album to close a career like their with.
I expected to find Hell On Earth on top of a lot of peoples fave lists, and it's definitely a super great track, but I never understood why people consider it to be THAT outstanding. What is it that makes this song SO special for so many here?
My favourite three Maiden songs from the reunion albums yet, and in this order:

2) When The Wild Wind Blows
3) Senjutsu

The Future Past by a million milestones. Beast Matter in 2007 was a huge letdown imho. Four songs from TNOTB, but three of them are kinda "always there" songs (Hills, Hallowed, Beast). And the fourth...: COTD sounded awful, Bruce can't handle it anymore for a long time yet. No The Prisoner? No...
The way he sings Aces High LIKE THAT hints a conflict within the band, probably between Bruce and Steve.
It reminds me 1993, when he just didnt put effort anymore in the performance or perverted things, just to piss of Steve.

That Aces Low thing... is it Steves stubborness to have it in 2025 or where does that come from at all nowadays? I can't imagine all of the band is going collectively like "yeah, Aces Low, let's do that, as an encore! That's a great idea!"
I thought of doing a pic, thanks for your kind interest in my collection, I appreciate, m8! :)
I will do a pic after I will have received the new ones I ordered yet from this tour (Budapest, Prag & Nordic), will arrive early July.
I get your point. I have a lot of Maiden shirts, all from the official store (and some bought at gigs), and they all look like almost new, because I have approx. 60 official Maiden shirts atm - which means if I'll wear each of them only one time (maximum twice) a summer, summer will over (German...
