    Steve Harris Signature Bass Review

So after trying the signature Rotosounds, heavy DR Lo-Riders, and heavy Ernie Ball heavies - I've gotta give the edge to the Ernie Balls. They have much less tension than the Rotos, last longer, and are about $20 a set.

Maidens debut album - on Bass

I've been following you on YT for quite awhile, didn't know you were on the forum. Great covers! I hope to be on your level eventually. Have you kept the Rotosound strings on?
  3. The Anger & The Pain

    Best concert?

Frederick, MD. Once at Jiffy Lube Live and then a 5 hour road trip with my brother to NC.

5 favorite Maiden albums, 3 favorites from each

Interesting thread, I'll have a go at it. 7th Son: Moonchild, The Clairvoyant, The Evil That Men Do Powerslave: 2 Minutes 2 Midnight, Powerslave, Rime of the Ancient Mariner Somewhere in Time: Caught Somewhere in Time, Wasted Years, Heaven Can Wait (LOTLDR is so close) Number of the Beast...
  5. The Anger & The Pain

    Best concert?

Really? I've seen them 2012 in DC / VA and 2013 in Raleigh NC. The Raleigh show would have to be my favorite - they were just coming back from break. Best non Maiden - Killswitch Engage 2/12/2010, Baltimore.

IRON MAIDEN TO BRING THE STUNNING MAIDEN ENGLAND WORLD TOUR TO EUROPE IN 2013

My thoughts from the first US tour in Raleigh. I've got to say, after the intro and the flames go up....my memory is a bit hazy. I'm not sure I stood still at all. I was somewhat shocked how tame the crowd was, especially in the pit. I'd bet money they can't wait to get out of the States and...

Bruce Dickinson: Rock ‘n’ Roll Warmonger

He's been known to comment on fairly minor controversies during a show. For example pavilion seating / prices in the US.

Bruce Dickinson: Rock ‘n’ Roll Warmonger

Exactly. After reading your link, here are some thoughts: Why would they make a big deal about a five million pound investment if they just got 500 million from the US gov? It says the five million invested was part of 150 million that the EU was using to boost small to medium sized businesses...

Paul/Bruce period songs that Blaze did well/better

They played it on their 2012 Maiden England US tour set. Will be seeing them again September 3rd and unless they change the set, they should play it again. It sounded very good.
  10. The Anger & The Pain

    The Talisman

    10. Yes, musically it isn't very complex, but combined with the story and drive - the song is excellent.
  11. The Anger & The Pain

    Killers

10/10, best song from the early years.
  12. The Anger & The Pain

    Running Free

While I usually prefer my Maiden complex, this is a simple song that delivers. I also love the way they play it live, especially to close the night out - introducing members of the band, etc. I'm a little biased since I try to play bass, playing along to the songs with just the drums and bass...
  13. The Anger & The Pain

    Sanctuary

7 / 10. Does anyone else play this with a passenger in the car? Several occasions where they look in the mirror when the sirens play during the song.
  14. The Anger & The Pain

    Themes for new Maiden album

    Shear of the Dark
  15. The Anger & The Pain

    Best Live Maiden song

Fear of the Dark, Heaven Can Wait, Running Free.

    Maiden's future (albums/touring)

I think everyone here is being to generous - I don't see them playing past 2016/17. Final album in 2014. I could see a combination farewell / new album tour ending in 2016/17. I'm going to predict most of our Maiden fix coming in the form of DVDs/Blu Rays finishing out the history. 2015...
  17. The Anger & The Pain

Journey to Maiden in Vegas...one night...17 hours long.

They could drop RTTH and something else in exchange for Mariner, Heaven Can Wait.
