Comparisons to the Maiden of the 80's are pointless. This is a very different band now and frankly I think they are better. That Maiden are still together at this point of their lives is fantastic. That they are still one of the biggest bands in the world is astounding. There is just so much to...
I'd give it a 7. Some absolute stunners on there but the filler is very weak IMO. Songs like Face in the Sand, Age of Innocence, New Frontier, Gates of Tomorrow just don't get a look in.
He talked them up quite a bit on his anthology dvd. Don't think he's disrespectful at all, I just think he's a forward thinker. Iron Maiden are his future and whatever else the past is, it's gone.
Yep that's her, that's a nice little track but she's got so much more to her. She revels in making the weird enjoyable.
Like all the best albums Metals takes a couple of listens before it hits you just how amazing it is. I just have it on repeat constantly now and it's still fresh, vibrant...
Big Trouble in Little China was playing in Dublin City tonight and it was fucking amazing with a crowd. The movie is just so much fun. It could be 15 hours long and it'd never get boring. 5/5.
Yeah I went through something similar on the Brave New World Tour when I went to see them in Birmingham. It all seems so easy when you plan it out :) Like you said though, totally worth it!!!
Oooh Hard luck sir. I was fortunate enough to catch it here in Dublin and it was amazing. Frack me the band really got off on the AMOLAD stuff, was great to see. :shred:
Agree with this, though I could do without a whole Blaze concert. Footage of that whole era in a documentary might be more digestible. The fact that they didn't release a live album/dvd during that era says it all. Agree about the set list too.
The Thing was playing in Dublin tonight. I've seen it a million times but seeing it with an audience, many of whom clearly hadn't seen it...well it was something. You should've seen them during the blood test scene, edge of the seats and barely able breathe Looked STUNNING on the big screen...
Can't disagree with AMOLAD. My favourite album too for precisely the same reasons. There's a reason Maiden played it in its entirety on tour. Masterpiece!
