    North American tour thread

The thing is, you're not a 54 year old guy with a family.  You might think it's "easy" for them to continue to tour like the '80s, but it's not feasible.  They'd break up before that happened. I'd rather take less tour dates (yes, even me personally) for better performances and better longevity...

If you were, Steve then you'd be dead for having toured every day for ten straight years.

    North American tour thread

Why would they announce the first leg as "66 days around the world", have it last 66 days, and then add another couple dates around North America.  It doesn't make sense, and it's not going to happen. The most likely shot at a NA tour is a land-based tour of a couple of cities shortly before...

It's still not going to happen.  If NA dates were happening after Florida, they would've been incorporated into the first leg.  It doesn't make sense for Maiden to fly an entire production into Florida and then pick-up a land-based tour for a handful of dates.

Iron Maiden to announce UK dates on Thursday 11 November!

Because Rush has done three (now four) in the past decade.  Maiden have done seven.

Iron Maiden to announce UK dates on Thursday 11 November!

There's something called market saturation.  It applies both to tour dates in the States and to DVDs.

Iron Maiden to announce UK dates on Thursday 11 November!

I think it's more unjust to the people who never got gig within a thousand kilometres of them.  There were only twelve gigs in North America for AMOLAD, so I can't see how this is any worse.

Iron Maiden to announce UK dates on Thursday 11 November!

We've been through this already.  "Around the world in 66 days" refers exclusively to the Ed Force One part of the tour, which lasts 66 days.  There's no other way to interpret it.  Your wishful thinking is causing you to tortuously stretch what the management has said into what you want. And...

Iron Maiden to announce UK dates on Thursday 11 November!

Yeah, I think it was wishful thinking.  I mean, it explicitly stated in the press release for the announcement of the UK dates that it was the last leg of the tour.

It's a shame he didn't get into the HHOF.  He deserved it.  RIP.

Yeah, that game was nuts.  St. Louis had 5 points and ended up at -1.

    More European Dates Confirmed

Bands/promoters don't schedule tours on hypotheticals.

    More European Dates Confirmed

The U.S. doesn't sell well for album tours.  The last time they've done one greater than 12 dates is BNW.

But the UK dates are the last for the tour.

But it won't happen.  It's "Around the World in 66 Days", which ends April 17.  And they're not going to segue right out of a tour on the plane into a land-based tour.  You have to think of the logistics.

If Maiden played Bruce's solo songs live...

I don't think they'd play songs out of standard tuning (maybe they'd make an exception for drop D).  In a hypothetical scenario, the most likely candidates would probably be Tears of the Dragon, Road to Hell and The Tower.

Re: Official thread for the North American tour-Only 2 Florida dates so far. They are adding more Europe dates.  There's no question about it. And the reason they're "only" doing 2 dates is because it's at the tail end of a leg that is fundamentally different from a land-based tour.  It's not...

Re: Official thread for the North American tour-Only 2 Florida dates so far. First of all, it's not two and a half months.  There's probably going to be 15 or so European dates in advance of Roskilde.  Call it month and a half at most. Secondly, Maiden will take a well-deserved break after the...
