NO PRAYER FOR THE DYING - Your thoughts…

I like it a lot, but as many have said, it came out after many classic albums, so it is easy to not include it as a classic. I really like how different it is compared to the two before. It is cleary inspired by what was going on in the world at the time, after being home and out of the Maiden...

Live After Death anniversary this year - do you expect anything interesting?

I would like a box set with more live alternatives, especially from Hammersmith. Why not also include a Blu-ray version as well. Realisticly, I guess a vinyl picture will come at the best

    Bruce Dickinson

This is what I’m thinking. But cool if they remix those as well

    Adrian Smith

I agree it seems very stupid to film when you are evacuating from a dangerous situation, but when you are in shock, you can do quite stupid things and become unrational. For all you know, they can think they are living their last minutes and want to document how they are dying or want to record...

If Maiden were to release an official live album from any tour of the past...

    1. Somewhere on tour 86/87 2. No prayer om the road (London 1990 full gig) 3. The x factour 1995 4. Ed hunter 1999 (Milano full gig) 5. Eddie rips up the world 2005 (Reykjavik full gig)

Simon Dawson is the new drummer

Somehow I have always imagined Rod is just like Ian Faith from Spinal Tap. Have they modelled the character after Rod Smallwood?

When did [insert band here] click with you?

I started with Metallica, Pantera and power metal when I was 15 or something, and soon found more extreme metal. So then I hated almost everything power metal. I also had a phase where I hated metal in genera, taking Steven Wilson and Trent Reznor way to serious. But when I went home to power...

When did [insert band here] lose their spark for you?

Well, this basicly happend to almost every band I think. I often start with their first material, and other than a handful of bands, I think they all start to decline after a while. But I can try to name a few clear examples: - Aerosmith. Many great albums, but after Pump, it’s quite meh. -...

    Bruce Dickinson

The remixes could possibly be done already, as it takes about a month to properly remix a album. They are just laying around until the Mandrake tour is over is my guess.

    Backing tracks rant

I prefer no backing tracks in general, but I understand some bands need to use it, especially those that have lot of orchestrations.

The Music That Made Your Year

In the early summer this year, I started a weird project where I started to listen to music from up to 1970, and for every week I have went up a whole year. I’m at 1998 now. I’ve had alot of rediscoveries along the way. For instance hearing The chemical wedding for the first time in years this...

    Iron Maiden's future

As long as they are healthy, I think we will see them around for up to ten more years, with 1-2 albums as well. If Steve or Bruce get very ill, I think they are ending a little earlier. Every year they are active now, are a bonus anyway

    The Future Past Tour 2024

…they have to make a new album, play new songs on tour, and have a new Eddie, props, scenery and Dawson in top form:wub:

Will British Lion play Iron Maiden songs in the future?

Not until Maiden are done forever. But they have probably 4-5 albuns out when Maiden are finishwd, so they will have enough material to not play Maiden. I voted no. I wonder if fans are shouting Maiden titles every time British Lion are playing

    Nicko McBrain retires

Awesome. But did they record this show or something? There were quite a few video angles here. The photographer who shot them from behind could be a very nice live album/video cover

Simon Dawson is the new drummer

They probably did it this way, so they don’t get thousands of horrible audition "tapes", and Nicko probably had a plan to finish this tour the whole year. Well, I hardly know how Simon plays and how he will fit in, but he probably have already played with Maiden in the rehersal room sometime...

    Nicko McBrain retires

This was very bittersweet to hear as a big fan. I’m very sad he retires from touring. I was really looking forward to see him on stage next year, hoping he could do one final year, it would have been perfect. But there’s no doubt the stroke shocked him and probably hurt his abilites as well...

Edguy / Avantasia / Tobias Sammet

As usual, it will be cool to get a new Avantasia album, but I hope for a couple of surprises now. Like a few new singers, more theatrical but also some old-school power metal would be awesome

Live After Death album: Which song do you like best?

I voted Flight of icarus, slightly over Revelations. Both versions are better than the studio

    Bruce Dickinson

Roy do tours, but he clearly enjoy songwriting and studio work the most
