Iron Maiden would fit in behind The Velvet Underground...
It was weird hearing a "new" Iron Maiden song where my speakers didn't sound like they were in another room with two wet blankets covering them. Plus I didn't notice any clipping in the Ghost cover.
Britney Spears, New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys will get in before Iron Maiden, Joy Division, King Crimson and Jethro Tull.
Hell, Slayer should have been in before any of the nominees for this year. The entire thing is a joke.
Still early but I think this is my favorite Metallica album since the Black Album. It might be tied with it actually. I like all of the songs and they work even better as a whole. The only criticism I can think of is the song "Lux Aeterna" feels like it is in the wrong slot. I think it would...
The should open the set with "Deja Vu" and the open the encore with "Deja Vu" and when the audience look confused Bruce can say "you only feel like you heard "Deja Vu" earlier.
Yes, that is clipping. If it sounds like there is bacon frying during a song it means the producer and whoever mastered it don' know what they are doing. It is really bad on Metallica's Death Magnetic, Rush's Vapor Trails and Red Hot Chili Peppers Californication.
The last three songs on...
I bought some really nice Sennheiser headphones the other day and they make the album sound even worse. If I turn the bass down to minus ten and the treble jacked all the way up to plus ten it sounds less shitty...but still shitty.
I just hate the sound of the album. It sounds like the speakers in are another room covered in a wet blanket. And the clipping, Christ almighty the fucking clipping.
Clarification: I like Senjutsu, but the album does sound like garbage. If you turn the treble knob on the receiver to Spinal Tap levels you can almost make Kevin Shirley's production sound decent.
