regardless of what happens or which songs they choose besides the obvious 2, I am happy they are doing this. it's been a long time coming. I am excited for the merch too. It is probably the most excited I have been for a tour from them in some time. I have been on many tours and still, nothing...
damn man. I live in Saint Augustine. Nights of Lights has kept me away from downtown for a bit but yes, the new variant is NO Different than the cold as far as symptoms. It's a good sign. As new variants form, they get weaker each time and will eventually fade out. Good things coming with Omicron.
I hate to be that guy but I feel it sounds more like a classic rock album than metal. Not in an Eagles or Floyd kinda way though. Certainly heavier. I don't feel much energy in the songs like I have in past reunion albums and that may be due to the production. Shirley has not been my cup of tea...
I hope the lost tapes of Somewhere in Time and the supporting tour see the day of light. There were too many cameras at the first gig for there not to be footage somewhere.
My review of this album (not too detailed)
After having a few months with the album, I hate to say it but I'm not a fan of it much at all. It's like The Final Frontier all over... 1 or 2 really good songs then the rest is just meh to me... They should have stopped at TBOS. It was a fantastic...
at this point, they should just open everything back up like here in sunny Florida. Keep your distance, eat healthy and don't get shitfaced in a public place with others.... they still argue bars and parties are where over 60% of covid cases get contracted in people under 35.... that's crazy...
I run into Nicko almost always at Rock N Roll ribs in the fall. He has never once been a jerk to anyone. He sits down with fans and eats their food. That's about as jerky as he gets lol Hasn't done that since covid which I understand. Steve is a teddy bear off the stage... chatted with him last...
Sabbath and Metallica had a load more of commercial success compared to Maiden... Metallica had a wider audience being stateside and with television on their side.
plenty of interviews from the late 80s saying he loved several songs on that album and 2 in particular were among his favorite to sing.. everyone says what you are based on the history series DVD... Steve loves the album but according to his convo with myself back in 2020, they didn't work well...
Darkest Hour reminds me of Man of Sorrows from TBOS which was my favorite track from that album... Darkest Hour right now is my favorite. Album will take some growing for me... right now, I still think TBOS is a stronger album but time will tell.
Thing that annoys me the most? Their lack of play for SIT songs along with giving no reason behind why.... 2nd would be playing the same, played to death songs every tour that just need to go already
The USA doesn't charge customs tax (or at least I never identified it on any receipts). I could be wrong but I don't remember paying any from overseas orders
you're right, it is based on taste. I just find it odd that the last 20+ years has been hit or miss for me. Every album has great tracks.... Overall is a different story. I think NOTB is a so so album with very strong songs where I feel POM is better overall but still acknowledge NOTB has better...
Run to the Hills is a song that never should have been played live. It's awful. I hate it. It could pass as almost pop metal. It just doesn't sound or feel like the rest of the songs on that album (except for Invaders) which joins it as awful.
This may be an "unpopular opinion" and if so, then so be it.. Since the reunion, Maiden's releases have been a hit or miss for me with exceptions here and there on specific tracks.
Brave New World = brilliant album overall with strong songs
Dance of Death = not so great overall but had some...
FYI for all of you people blaming politics on this. I ordered a sweater overnight shipping from Norway and it was $35 USD.... the price I paid for Iron Maiden shirts didn't even include tracking.... shipped the most basic way but when I order from other overseas companies, no insane pricing. I...
Somewhere in Time. That album was DEFINED by that guitar tone unlike all of their other albums... Those Gallien Kruger amps gave this album what I believe is their best guitar tone ever in their history. Harris' best bass lines I feel are on here as well as many of the most melodic guitar bits...
