Bruce is 64, has been in a heavy metal band for 30 years, plus some years as an airline pilot(noisy). Plus chemotherapy which is toxic to your ears/hearing. Its no surprise his hearing is probably suffering, I'd estimate he probably has moderate hearing loss at some frequencies.
I wonder why they chose to play Download over a doing a stadium gig in the UK. Could of done a medium size stadium like Coventry if they didn't think a bigger one would sell out.
What nonsense, why should people make the effort to listen to new stuff if they don't want too?
Still think its mad that they are opening with senjetsu, at least stratego picks up the pace and WOTW is decent enough. Senjetsu is a plodder though. I'm used to seeing Steve charge out to the front...
I think its a bit like the Bon Jovi situation, no ones going tell Steve/ the rest that opening with Senjetsu is an atmosphere killer. Likewise no one in camp Bon Jovi seemingly wants to tell him to retire.
he’s saying that it its a bit of a dull start for maiden standards. Compared to the likes of the wicker man, aces high, number of the beast, wildest dreams. Even eternity might fail has more oomf to it than senjetsu which is a plodder.
Maybe so, but that doesn't make aces high from this tour any less bad than it is. Bruce is 64 though, its totally understandable that he can't do it anymore. A vocalist at the top of their game like Floor Jansen is 41, I wouldn't expect her to belting out ghost love score as well as she does now...
Lets put it this way, if i wanted to introduce iron maiden to someone that had never heard them before, the last time performance i would show them is aces high from this tour.
Peoples attitude to protecting their hearing... " if you take a kid to a show get him/her ear defenders"
for yourself- " na dont worry, just slowly bombard yourself with noise and slowly go deaf"
