Create your own Iron Maiden setlist!

It seems to be a recurring theme at the forum so I'll give my take. As I said before, if Maiden would make a 50th anniversary tour I think it will be heavily based upon hits. Plus, one must take into account some band member's age and how some tracks would be left out due to these limitations...

Iron Maiden Tour 2025 - Discussion

I agree with @Vaenyr : Rime IMO is pretty doubtful to be featured and Aces High near impossible. Which is a shame because Rime and Aces are no more no less my two favorite Maiden songs.

Iron Maiden Tour 2025 - Discussion

Indeed. It's usual in that kind of milestone celebration tour (Like Priest did). Mmmmmm... Other than 2 Minutes to Midnight and Powerslave I'm not seeing any other song entering the bill. On the one hand Aces High and Rime are really hard to pull nowadays and then, if it's a greatest hits tour...

In that case it's a comparison that IMO doesn't even make sense. Oranges to apples.

Iron Maiden Tour 2025 - Discussion

Yeah, I'd liked it too but let's be real. Yet I fear this would be a flop among a large portion of Maiden fans who hate the album's guts. Personally, I would love a tour featuring tracks like Man On The Edge, Sign Of The Cross, Fortunes Of War, Lord Of The Flies and The Edge Of Darkness. They...

Iron Maiden Tour 2025 - Discussion

To be fair this vocal performance is much but much better than Blaze's back in the day. And although this is more than a consensus among fans, it all has to do with vocal ranges. This guy sings the whole thing in falsetto and is on key for the vast majority of the song. Whether one likes his...

Iron Maiden Tour 2025 - Discussion

Yeah, there were at least a handful of instances in 2014 where they nailed it quite well. And it was played during the encore which increases the difficulty level. IMO it sounded even better than the majority of the first LOTB tour (with the exception of the first months in Europe). I won't even...

Oh, that one. Well, only time will tell. I think the band has barely thought about it. :)

Regarding the second leg of the tour's setlist, I'm not sure if you're aware of the leak revealed by Metal Pilgrim

Iron Maiden Tour 2025 - Discussion

True. I must stress the section after the first chorus still sounds quite off putting to me but I feared the simplification of the bass drum would have a similar effect and would tarnish the experience - as it covers a considerable part of the song. Fortunately, it still sounds cool to me. If...

Iron Maiden Tour 2025 - Discussion

Exactly... Nicko was top notch back then. And if it's a vocal issue this guy does quite a decent job. While sounding utterly different from Bruce, he seems to have a similar vocal range and so The Trooper and CIPWM singing sounds on key (something Blaze was unable to manage on The Trooper since...

Iron Maiden Tour 2025 - Discussion

100% agreed. I'd even go further... After listening to a ton of clips from TFP tour I think the last time he sounded noticeably better was the Maiden England Tour. In some tracks he sounds way less raspy (WOTW and Wasted Years are great examples). And let me say I was really concerned with...

    Devin Townsend

Here's my rank... It's rare to see a band with six albums at near perfection echelon in my book but then again... This is Devin. S- Infinity, Physicist, Terria, Addicted, Epicloud, Empath. A- Ocean Machine, Sky Blue, Synchestra. B- Accelerated Evolution, Ki, Deconstruction, Lightwork. C- Ghost...

What songs/albums have you changed your mind the most drastically about, since you started listening to IM?

Recently I did an Iron Maiden marathon while working and some significant changes regarding my personal rank. Just to recall my ranking several months ago: 17 - Fear Of The Dark 16 - Virtual XI 15 - Brave New World 14 - No Prayer For The Dying 13 - The Book Of Souls 12 - Senjutsu 11 - The Final...

    Bruce Dickinson

That and King In Crimson. Add these two and the setlist is delightful! There's stuff there I simply love that wouldn't expect to be featured (Gods Of War, Abduction). Plus, from what I've seen in YT all musicians sound tight as hell.
