Here to Eternity, Weekend Warrior, Fear is the Key, Chains of Misery are the main ones. It may sound silly but I don't even have them on my ipod. With 15 going on 16 albums there is no sense listening to songs I don't like. The Angel and the Gambler original version would be on this list but I...
@LooseCannon- thank you for taking the time to type such a thoughtful analysis of these songs. It certainly is very interesting and has made me enjoy this album and these songs even more!
I LOVE Rock in Rio, but the band put some really stupid vocal overdubs in there that are blatantly obvious. I don't know why they couldn't just leave the crowd singalong parts alone. There was 150,000 people singing after all.
Well they have done it again and completely floored me with excitement. Cannot wait until April for those Canadian shows! They keep outdoing themselves, good for them! This is sure to be a tour worthy of the term "epic"
I don't blame people for not liking Blaze/being critical of him and certainly objectively speaking his singing has some flaws as did his time with Maiden. But I am glad things went the way they did, and I can see why Maiden chose him. After the drama they went through with Bruce near the end, I...
One of my favourite tracks from the album. Such a great mix of melodic and heavy moments. Reminds me how lucky I am to have seen AMOLAD live in concert.
I hadn't listened to Scream For Me Brazil in quite a bit so I threw it on today. It is my favourite live album of all time. There is something magical and powerful about the songs and performances. For me with the exception of Killing Floor none of the studio versions of these songs can even...
Brave New World was played on the Dance of Death tour. I don't think they would play The Final Frontier if only for the fact that El Dorado was the single and what most people consider the better song. But who knows. After all these history tours, it's anybody's guess what they play :)
Obviously with The Book of Souls era kicking into high gear any History of Iron Maiden releases will be a few years away, but what does everyone think the band will do in the future with this exciting and excellent series of DVDs?
Donington 1992 is the logical next choice as they can put that...
This is a no brainer but I think we are guaranteed a live video/album from this tour. Besides the fact that the past 3 out of 4 albums have gotten the live recording treatment (and to be fair they intended to do it for AMOLAD as well) I think the band are going to be so excited to get on the...
I think there are a few factors at play that make this a very special album. Every track on here feels connected thematically and musically and the whole album flows well. One might argue that this means there is less diversity, but I think we get a nice variety of songs. So it is very fitting...
It is a shame that an official live album/DVD was never put out but hey maybe when they do the History of Iron Maiden DVD of the reunion era they will release footage of it. But in the meantime luckily the Donington footage is on Youtube and there are plenty of bootlegs. It would have been...
I think it is a downright shame that Maiden have not played Flight of Icarus with the reunion line up. For me it ranks right up there with the disappointment of not getting Infinite Dreams (Don't get me wrong I would love to see Alexander the Great live as well, but they will never do it. It...
As more and more people reference The Wicker Man in comparison to Speed of Light it has gotten me thinking that I don't really see the big deal about The Wicker Man. Now to be fair I was not listening to Maiden when this single was released, so perhaps it was the excitement of the reunion that...
