Iron Maiden Survivor 2012: Rime wins

Re: Iron Maiden Survivor III: Brave New World round 1 (Nov 14-15) I don't agree. Musically it's superb, but the  lyrics seem like they were pulled directly off a cue card of "Generic Praise for Alexander the Great", or a 5th grade history recitation, and the verses just don't seem well-written...

Iron Maiden Survivor 2012: Rime wins

Re: Iron Maiden Survivor III: Brave New World round 1 (Nov 14-15) I'd prefer to save the Trooper and The Thin Line, and vote out Alexander.

Forostar's Top 50 Iron Maiden songs

Re: Forostar's Top 50 Iron Maiden songs I agree entirely with you on this one Foro, Ghost of the Navigator is definitely in my top three from BNW, which I consider an exceptionally strong album.

The length of time between NEW ORIGINAL albums.

I'm fairly certain Darth Maiden is just trolling with some of his statements, though which are serious and which are the troll I'm not entirely sure.

Re: Iron Maiden Survivor III: Virtual XI round 2 (Nov 12-13) Alexander the Great, Como Estais Amigos, Virus.

Iron Maiden Survivor 2012: Rime wins

Re: Iron Maiden Survivor III: Virtual XI round 1 (Nov 10-11) Meant to vote for Don't Look to the Eyes of a Stranger, When Two Worlds Collide, The Angel and the Gambler, clicked Como Estais Amigos by accident somehow.

Forostar's Top 50 Iron Maiden songs

Re: Forostar's Top 50 Iron Maiden songs I'm not a big fan of Virus personally. Didn't really strike me as a standout the first time I heard it. It's placing here HAS inspired me to go back and give it another listen however, and I'm definitely curious to see what's next.

    Alexander The Great some day!

I'd be highly surprised it the only reason they don't play it is Bruce. That hardly seems likely to stop Steve Harris.

    Alexander The Great some day!

Steve said that Bruce was just really burned out from the World Slavery Tour at the time. Bruce said at one point that he wanted the album to be Maiden's Physical Graffiti, and that instead they just made another Maiden album. (Don't really agree with him there, Somewhere In Time is one of the...

Forostar's Top 50 Iron Maiden songs

Re: Forostar's Top 50 Iron Maiden songs Excellent song, although I wouldn't commit the blasphemy of ranking it above Paschendale.  :)

    No Prayer For the Dying

8/10, like Revelations I like the lead guitars on this track, and Bruce sounds better here than he does on other parts of the album.

    Hooks In You

3/10. I really found nothing to like about this song. The lyrics are atrocious, Bruce's voice grates on me throughout the song, and the music, while not terrible, isn't good. Not sure yet if it's my least favorite Maiden song, certainly my least favorite Adrian/Bruce collaboration.

Forostar's Top 50 Iron Maiden songs

Re: Forostar's Top 50 Iron Maiden songs Brighter Than A Thousand Suns is a simply amazing song, good choice.

    "Dave Murray blew me off"

It sounds like a dick move the way he tells it, but the whole rant is so over-the-top and dripping with venom that I'd doubt it's 100% veracity.

Forostar's Top 50 Iron Maiden songs

Re: Forostar's Top 50 Iron Maiden songs The 90s tracks making their way into this list are certainly unique. I always thought Fates Warning was one of the few redeeming songs on No Prayer, though I doubt it would make my top 50.

    Flash of the Blade

A personal favorite of mine (Possibly because I'm a fencer though), with fantastic guitar work and lyrics by Bruce. I considered giving it a 9, but reluctantly concluded that overall, the song is not the equal of Aces High or Two Minutes To Midnight, which I gave nines, so a strong eight it is...
