Completely agree. It's a top drawer record from start to finish. Once I joined the Maiden online community eons ago, I was gobsmacked to see that it's near the bottom of most people's lists!

I tend to think of "classics" in terms of what got them on the map initially...which would basically be anything off of the LAD setlist. Though I've also uses that term to reference anything off of the first seven records.

Unfortunately, I think you're on to something, Wayne. The gaps between albums are maddening. I really thought that the new albums would pick up in their "pre-retirement" period and the worldwide tours would drastically shorten...instead of the other way around.

I love that Adrian's son is plugged into his phone during the whole thing... It's nice to know that it doesn't matter where you live or how much money you make --- their are some things that we all universally experience.

Good point on the galloping guitar on CSIT live. The bootlegs sound kinda tame as it's just Steve. Most of the time, his galloping bass is perfectly fine, but this is one of those songs that needs those extra layers. Also agree on the live sound as being a big issue. Maiden's overall live...

Absolutely - this was my introduction to the band back in the 80s. I love everything about it. The pace, the storytelling, the ethereal/reverb-y production, the artwork, the solos,. It's an awesome record. I consider this the apex of the 'holy trinity' period (Powerslave/SIT/SSOASS).

I can't see it until the 23rd as a I promised my wife I'd wait to see it with her when we start out XMas vacation. Please use spoiler tags!
