    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

If Maiden made an album with a top notch production and crystal clear sound everyone would be ecstatic. It is what most fans have been asking for years (yeah I know someone will come and say «not me», whatever). Listening to the three guitars in all of their glory, having a powerful drum...

I like albums to sound better than live performances so I don’t get this clinical argument. Maiden albums in the eighties sounded better than the band playing them live, that’s the point of a studio recording. I really love the style of post-reunion Maiden music (I love the intros, the long...

Even if someone doesn’t like modern production (and 99% of modern metal albums sound amazing to me but whatever), the eighties Maiden albums are on a different stratosphere in terms of quality of sound. Putting an eighties album to listen and then immediately a post-reunion album isn’t...

The quality of Firepower is excellent with many fantastic songs and the album has a glorious sound. Martin Birch was the best hard rock producer ever, his pre-Maiden work was extraordinary (obviously so was his Maiden work, a big part of Maiden’s success in the eighties).

Yes other big bands have had problems but not for so many albums. The last Metallica album has an amazing sound.

I am not talking about the quality of the music, I think the albums are actually great, I am referring to the quality of the sound. The book of Souls would have been a landmark Maiden album, IMO, if it didn’t sound almost like a demo.

It is the truth. Their albums sound weaker than just about every metal album these days, kind of like a reverse situation of the eighties.

The sound of all post-reunion Maiden albums is embarrassing, considering what bands with 1% of the budget can achieve these days. The production actually hurts the music, the same albums with good productions would have been amazing. It has been a huge shame. The X-factor was ruined by the...

The title track continues to sound like a massive disappointment. When the album was announced I had such high hopes for it. I expected a roaring metal song talking about battles in the east.

Post FOTD ? I consider NPFTD/FOTD the worst period in Maiden’s history. I consider all post-reunion albums waaaaaaay better than these two.

Sorry for not liking industrial sounds and country elements.

The problem isn’t one or two reviews, the problem is that , after TWOTW which I don’t like, we have an experimental opener instead of a traditional Maiden song. So that’s 15 minutes , from the album, already not for me.

Judas Priest still have the flame to , at the very least, try to make powerful stuff. Metallica, Slayer e.t.c yeah, they are finished (well Slayer literally).

Extremely disappointed about what I am reading about the title track. It seems that I will really miss IESF. I doubt the album will come close to TBOS anyway.Oh and I sincerely hope that there is nothing reminding a song like Hooks in You, I consider «rockers» like this in the FOTD/NPFTD...

No surprises, the album sounds exactly like what I imagined after it was properly announced. I wish that they recorded a different post-reunion style album but what can you do ? Shorter songs, less intros, faster/more dynamic stuff, heavier sound. Oh well.....

British Lion are very good, songs like The Burning with a few modifications could have been Maiden songs. I loved their second album.

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

The only problem of the post-reunion Maiden albums is the sound and it is an inexplicable one. I get having one album with production issues but six (yes the new one sounds good only compared to other post reunion albums, not in general) is the weirdest thing in music history for such a huge...

Rob Zombie’s new album reached n.1 on billboard with sales of 26k.

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

No, because it is extremely easy to get to n.1 of billboard these days and Maiden have the fanbase to easily achieve it, unless something extremely popular releases that week.
