    General Album Ratings

Hi, no I'm English. I just have a "thing" for really cool words with double meanings and words that us English aka "language pillagers" have stolen from somewhere else and completely changed what it means and i like "how they said things back in the old days" (even though im 27. Yes. It is quite...

Best Album to work out to

I don't work out but if i did it would be to Somewhere in Time. I would also thoroughly enjoy it, and would be probably be pronounced clinically dead by the time Bruce sings "...died of fever in Babylon"  :ok:

    Most Underrated Maiden song?

I'm gonna say Don't Look to The Eyes of A Stranger. I put this on this morning and had one of those "hang on a minute, i think the penny's just dropped with this song" moments. In the past the repitition always used to rile me, even though I've always loved the solos and the sudden ending is...

    Favorite Live Album

Rock in Rio, it displaced Live After Death about a year ago for me. I grew up with Live After Death blaring in my ears so this was no lean decision to make

Iron Maiden and the "Loudness wars"

Interesting, although I think you'd be better off comparing something from either Killers or NotB. The debut is pretty much lo-fi, DIY type style of recordings and the recent stuff is using more advanced recording technology. The sound waves aren't reaching distortion levels on the newer stuff...

    Easy Maiden guitar songs

First 2 Maiden songs i learnt in their entirety were Phantom of the Opera and Hallowed be thy Name. I had been playing for years though by this point, if i was more of a beginner i think it would've been a more painstaking process than what it was. A lot of it tends to be about timing, the...

How many of you are actually musicians?

I play guitar and bass and keyboards and drums. I am not in a band but have loads of "projects" (ideas under a fancy name, more like. Haha sometimes I believe I'm Trent Reznor ) I suppose, technically speaking, i'm a classically trained pianist too. That was 10 years ago though so in...

Hi, I am Jim. I live in Preston, England (which is exactly as exciting as it sounds :ok:) I am a tad obsessed with Iron Maiden, obviously, have been for most of my life lol. I also like Nirvana and Radiohead just as much. And football. And swearing! And cigarettes and stuff that's really bad...

    General Album Ratings

Phew!!! *wipes sweat off brow* I've been doing this on and off at work all day since about 9am  Worth it though!!! Iron Maiden Strangely enough, despite being obsessed with Maiden since aged 12 (1992), I only bought this album on CD last year. I’ve had it on vinyl for 16 years but chose...

    Favourite Album

I had to vote for Somewhere in Time, after much deliberation between that, Killers and Seventh Son. I can listen to SiT no matter what mood or situation i am in and enjoy it every single time. That and its got Alexander on it which is so good it should come with a health warning. Special...

I have switched allegiance to Portugal, at least they play a brand of football and aren't pansies!!!  :ok: I'm not Portuguese in the slightest, gotta follow someone though now that our <sic> "national heroes" <sic> won't be parading around in their Armani suits and £60 000 sunglasses.
