    Your ultimate reunion album

    1. The Time Machine 2. Isle Of Avalon 3. The Wicker Man 4. No More Lies 5. The Man Who Would Be King 6. Out Of The Shadows 7. Ghost Of The Navigator 8. The Legacy 9. Rainmaker 10. The Great Unknown 11. Hell On Earth These are all 10/10 in my opinion. I didn't want to pick more than two songs...

Legacy Of The Beast Post-Pandemic Leg

I'd even say that it's three highlight songs missing with SIT as "Deja-Vu" should have been played, too (I actually prefer it to "Alexander The Great"). And TFF also has another two for me with "Isle Of Avalon" and "The Man Who Would Be King" (my favourites from the album).

That's definitely one of my favourite bits, too. I like that it's not over the top but quite subtle.

Before I post my current ratings of all the Senjutsu songs (and more detailed comments in the individual song threads), I'd like to address four of the most common complaints about this and other reunion albums: 1. The songs are too long and should be replaced by shorter uptempo rockers that...

Of course, there are far worse examples of repetition in the catalogue, but I meant that within the four lines the title is repeated twice and the other two lines are also identical apart from one word, plus what Donner said. I do enjoy the track overall, though.

While I would rate some songs differently and have a different opinion on how the album compares to the last five, I have the same favourites as you, both my only 10s. I think the most obvious bit of recycling on "The Time Machine" is from "Edge Of Darkness", though, and luckily I can't hear any...

That's one of my favourites, too. It really has a spring in its step.

I agree with you 100% on this. It's the only song I've dropped from the tracklist. I did the same with "Coming Home", the power ballad on TFF. I know they are quite different except for the lick in Dave's solo, but I find both very derivative and lacking a great chorus. I much prefer "Out Of The...

The Man Who Would Be King

I, too, love everything about this song. It actually is my favourite on the album (followed by Isle of Avalon) and one of my favourite Maiden songs ever.

    TBOS Tour Predictions

Yes. That would be my choice pick from the first four reunion albums.

    Death Or Glory

:funnypost: I don't hate them, but I ignore them.

    Death Or Glory

Severian and frus, you're both right, there have been other songs like this such as Flash Of The Blade and Sun And Steel (which I don't enjoy for the same reason). However, I would say that Die With Your Boots on (with lines like "Predicting War for millions in the hope that one appears") has a...

    Death Or Glory

But the lyrics are about war and death but belittle the horrors of it and make it sound like fun.

    Death Or Glory

I agree with your rating and the "Aces low" review. It's my least favourite song of the album and the only song I skip. When I noticed the subject matter I already thought "Not again", only to be even more disappointed by the low quality of the lyrics. The music and melody of the chorus is...

Five years later: The Final Frontier revisited

Very good album. El Dorado and Coming Home (the most overrated FF song) are the only songs I'm not too fond of. If the album only consisted of the last five songs it would be flawless and the most consistent Maiden album (and still longer than The Number Of The Beast). My favourite track is...

The Book Of Souls (song not album)

Totally agree with you there. It's my favourite Gers/Harris song and one of my all-time best of Maiden. As regards The Book Of Souls, unlike others I'm not too keen on the first riff and the intro/outro is too simple for me as well. I prefer more melodies. Everything else is amazing, though...

    If Eternity Should Fail

No, I agree. I think it ruins the ending of the song. I also think the intro and its vocal melody is nothing special. Because of the intro and outro I can't rate it higher than 8/10.

    For Somewhere In Time fans

Thanks for the welcome. I agree, the music of that song is sublime, but for rating purposes I have to take into account the lyrics as well: unfortunately I can't ignore the historical inaccuracy and I'm not fond of historical accounts of conquerors, anyway.

Your favourite song from every album

Iron Maiden - Remember Tomorrow Killers - Killers The Number of the Beast - Hallowed Be Thy Name Piece of Mind - Revelations Powerslave - Aces High Somewhere in Time - Any one of the tracks apart from Alexander The Great (which is only let down by the lyrics). It is ridiculous that Maiden...

Official Maidenfans poll: Favorite studio album 2015

Somewhere In Time without a doubt. Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son is my 2nd favourite. Still need to figure out where the other albums rank. Very impressed by The Book Of Souls so far.
