Any Ideas On A New Album

No worries, I didn't take offense to the "fanboy" comment. It's probably pretty accurate, seeing as how I follow where he, H, goes. And, I love Davey- I wouldn't have named my #2 son Adrian David if I didn't think highly of Mr. Murray as well! As for the "Is this a good thing?" query- I think...

    Adrian Smith

Look on page 5 of this thread for a user named "lungbuster"- I think that's him. Just the way he talked about BLM and Psycho Motel made me think it was him, plus the username. Now, I could be wrong . . .

Have you folks heard Andy Makin's new band, Black Light Machine? They're on Facebook and elsewhere- very good, and very heavy, too! I *think* he used to come around these forums and we've conversed, but he never came out and said "Hi, I'm Andy Makin!"

Yep, my friend got back to me- vocals and guitar by Adrian on Live To Learn. I guess Greg Ridley died with the song unfinished. I didn't know that. A fitting tribute from H, then. I'm ok with the new Reach Out, but yeah, I prefer the up tempo, b-side version more.

Night Prowler- look up Make Up Your Mind, also from Bucket and Co. Adrian sings and plays the solo on that song. Bucket takes the solo on Reach Out.

Any Ideas On A New Album

Fair enough, though I tried in my first "long post" to be fair to the band members that were at the heart of the discussion (Adrian and Steve). I am an Adrian fanboy, admittedly, but I also acknowledged this up front and state what I saw were his weaknesses and that he does his best work with...

While we wait on info on the Greg Ridley song, here's a little something from his Psycho Motel days. A cover of Bob Dylan's Just Like A Woman. Brilliant, bluesy guitar.

Now that is just spooky, Ariana- are you a fly on my wall? :) I'm trying to get some more info on this. Stand by.

My pleasure, of course. And here's one more for TRUE Adrian Smith fans: (I think he just plays guitar on this one, but I'm not totally sure)

Nah, you just had to be condescending about it. Why does the internet bring out all the trolls?

Yeah, H is a bit picky. He loves his craft and takes it very seriously. I admire that dedication and attention to detail . . . especially when someone else on stage with him (cough) usually doesn't have the same professional standards. :)

Ariana and all- here's a treat for you, then. Here's Adrian playing on a song with soul singer Kym Mazelle. My understanding is that he helped write and produce the song, and he played guitar, bass, and sang on it, too. Not your typical Adrian sound, but pretty good!

I'm too old to waste energy arguing. That and I'm trying to be positive nowadays. ;)

Done and done!! That was a good, well-thought-out review. Top-notch and we agree on most points. As well, I was able to glance at the conversation about the Urchin records (released by High Roller Records). I have them and, knowing they are rough demos poorly recorded, I LOVE `em!! There...

Cheers, Forostar! I will do so. Thanks for pointing me to that (I was hoping to get the final parts of your review, but never saw them).

Maturin- yep, that's your opinion. Opinion's are like assholes- everyone's got one. Doesn't mean we all want to see/hear it, though.

Any time, Ariana- we Adrian Smith fans are a notoriously tight bunch!

I'm going to take a peek at the elephant in the room and ask everyone's opinion: compare Awoken Broken with British Lion- which do you prefer, what are the strengths and weaknesses of both, which one will hold up better over the years, and will either solo/side project influence the next Iron...

    Adrian Smith

(re: The Untouchables) Yep, that's Adrian from that era. I got to see him in March of `92 with The Untouchables in Bradford, England. It was a great show- highlights being "Wasted Years" and "Back In The Village." Supposedly, he has an entire Untouchables live album "in the can," but never...

Any Ideas On A New Album

I'll add my own perspective, for what little it may be worth. First, I will state right up front that I am an Adrian Smith fan foremost, but a Maiden fan just a tick behind that. And yes, when he left/was booted, I lost interest. I've been a Maiden fan since late `82, so this isn't a recent...
