I think the best example of this is all the way back in January 2001 when the band played two intimate shows at London’s Shepherds Bush. The band added both The Fallen Angel AND Out Of the Silent Planet. I think these two shows were the only time the band played OOTSP live.

The strategy worked for Megadeath - their final album gave them their first ever number 1 album in certain countries including America. Maiden have hit number on the album charts all over the world, but the have never quite managed it in America. I wonder if there is a little bit of wanting...

Yes this makes sense - the only reason to squeeze such a (relatively) extensive tour into 2026 is to spend 2027 recording. Otherwise, the European festival 2026 leg would surely have been scheduled for 2027. But…. Then again, they could also have spent the early summer of this year...

They couldn’t sell out one night at London stadium in 2025, so not sure what your logic is for claiming they can sell out two nights in 2026.

Considering the size and wealth of Japan, the shows Maiden play there are very small compared to other parts of the world. It seems they are losing their ageing Japanese fans and not replacing them sufficiently with newer generations.
