Which Maiden studio album has the best guitar sound in your opinion?

If we're talking worst, it's VXI without a doubt. The production on that album gives no depth or punch to the geetars and it's a travesty that Futureal's opening riff is not a dual guitar harmony.

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

I’d say “inspired by” rather than written in memory of. It’s about the daily struggle of people with depression, having to go through life as if nothing is wrong. Granted, the lyrics are very specific about certain things that definitely point to Robin Williams.

    The X Factor : 30 years on

I have the original CD from ‘95, the Japanese double disc version, and the 2017 remastered vinyl. The vinyl copy sounds incredible, imo. Deep dark and heavy. It’s still in my top five Maiden albums. And by far their best 90s album.

I live close to Diesel in a bigger actually city and you still absolutely need a car to get around. It’s like eating biscuits in a breadbox.

How will Simon Dawson change the look and sound of Maiden?

Simon will probably be playing in the interim between now and when Maiden retire.

Of course it is. Trump gets to be a victim when it suits him, while also being "The King."

    Black Sabbath

I just assumed it was the same song either way. But I grew up with that soundtrack having never heard the album until the last couple years. Good tune! It's good stuff.

-10 points for not mentioning that Time Machine was on the Wayne's World soundtrack. For shame.

    Metallica OR Megadeth?

If I had to pick only one on a deserted island with just me and my volley ball and boombox, I'd probably pick Megadeth. I enjoy them, on the whole, more than Metallica. But Metallica's best albums are head and shoulders above any album by Megadeth. In my humble opinion.

    Ed Hunter

I feel like I'd like to see Ed Hunter get put up on GOG.COM, complete with compatibility patches for modern OSs and such.

Two songs of a similar formula: Rainmaker versus Stratego - Which one do you like better?

Rainmaker is one of my least favorite singles of the reunion era. I quite like Stratego.

    Ed Hunter

I feel like this was something discussed within the last year(s) or so. And I believe the consensus was that Melt was melted into scrap and Ed Hunter was developed as a separate project. But it’s hazy and I’m old and want to finish my cheeseburger.

Actually I agree with this. I like the principle behind the Eddie’s more than the execution. And the art for the football stuff looks fine. It’s just the principle of that which rubs my buns the wrong way.

    Ed Hunter

I was less concerned about the Ed Hunter crossover and rather hated the Football/Soccer crossover. Steve saying “we figure our fans like what we like so we wanted to incorporate football” is dumb for a lot of reasons, not least of being that the majority of their fans don’t live in England or...

How will Simon Dawson change the look and sound of Maiden?

I, personally, don't give a shit about the size of the drum kit or what drums Simon is hitting. I care that the music is good and the original spirit of the music is kept in tact. Brann Dailor has a tiny kit and shreds the thing to pieces. Big Kits don't automagically mean better drumming...
