    When was he not?  :innocent:

Yeah.  I can understand it being tough living in a market that doesn't have a lot of draw for an international metal band.  I was more responding to the people (like bornless) who seem to think Maiden owe them personally.  We all have an ideal: that Maiden be a group of ageless, super-endurable...

Like I said, that doesn't make sense.  Maiden can't outpace themselves.  They're in their mid-50s, have families, etc.  Your solution is impossible. We're not dealing in hypotheticals here.  Be realistic: Maiden don't tour out of the goodness of their hearts.  They can't tour on a pace you...

What's the best proof to show that Iron Maiden is NOT satanic

There is no reason to justify a silly argument with a well-thought response.

Once again, fonzbear, your "Maiden should just play 300 shows every tour" argument holds no ground. FACT: The U.S. will get (at least) 27 shows this tour.  That's 1 show per 11.5 million people. FACT: France will get 2 shows this tour.  That's 1 show per 32.5 million people. FACT: Brazil will...

Yeah, but how about countries like France.  You know when the last time it is that Maiden played a gig outside of Paris?  2003.  And that's a country of 65 million. Or, for example, Brazil.  Hardcore fanbase, a big country with very few transportation options, and it's only been in the last two...

Bornless, why does the States deserve more than anyone else?  There are dozens of countries with a more hardcore fanbase that gets less shows than America.

Rise To Remain to support Maiden in 2011

Holy Grail are really bad.  I saw them opening for Blind Guardian and... I can't stand much power metal.  Blind Guardian are great because they realize how inherently cheesy and awful the lyrics are, and just strive to create an energy filled atmosphere with lots of fun.  Holy Grail take...

The real crime here is that he made it seem like I was the one who misspelled it .

Rise To Remain to support Maiden in 2011

Dream Theater was great opening for Maiden. The fact is that the support act is factored into the cost of the ticket, and the crowd deserves a good show - all the way through, including openers - and not nepotistic promotion.

Seriously, this is not cool. I don't care however good or bad they are, nepotism shouldn't come into this.

    More European Dates Confirmed

I was just looking at the European dates and I'm wondering what the odds are for more shows in Berlin, given that there's a four day gap between Berlin and Stuttgart and the show is on a Friday. Though it's also very possible a Switzerland show might be in that gap.

    Adrian's New Band!!!

I wouldn't be surprised if they try and surreptitiously do another one under a different name.

Blame this one on the internet.  Secret gigs are really difficult to pull off these days.

Not to mention the AMOLAD didn't exactly go down a storm in the U.S., and that was even when they only did the biggest markets.

It's too much strain on the band and their families.  Look at what the World Slavery Tour did.  It nearly ended Maiden; and that was when they were in their mid-20s.  And the performances during that time suffered. No thanks, I'll take ~50 dates each year instead.

    North American tour thread

I'm still not processing this.  You want Maiden to tour less, but somehow think this will translate in more shows?  Doing 50 dates each year is the same as doing a 150 show tour every three.  You don't seem to understand this basic concept.

    North American tour thread

So that's it.  You'd rather have Maiden tour less, but at the same time tour North America more.  How is that fair to the rest of the world, especially since the fans in the States are among Maiden's worst in the world? EDIT: And I looked it up.  Maiden played 150 North American dates from...

But that results in less tour dates.  For example, in the time period from 2002 (when Rush ended their hiatus) to 2010, Rush has played 280 shows.  During that same period, Maiden played 341.  How can you say you prefer the former to the latter? Or, from 2000-2010 AC/DC played 306 shows to...

Iron Maiden to announce UK dates on Thursday 11 November!

They released a DVD in 2008, and one in 2009, and they've got another planned to record this spring.  It's not an issue of when they're recorded, it's an issue of when they're released.
