RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

I'm the same--I was looking forward to seeing what they had and then...CG Eddie? But looking at the size and scope of the screen, it was probably the evolution Eddie would eventually take at some point. I like it a lot, can't be mad at it, and it's genuinely impressive from some of those first...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

For the express purpose of putting Fear of the Dark in the setlist. No other reason, and I knew that would be the case. I was 50/50 on whether NPFTD as a whole would get the shaft, but was fairly certain FotD was going to be the only song off that album. That said, the setlist is pretty...

Simon Dawson is the new drummer

From the clips I've seen, I thought he did great. I will say, it's weird as hell actually seeing the Iron Maiden drummer during a show, though. Just not used to it what with 41 years of Nicko setting up a drum store on the riser.

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Wasn't Bruce fresh off his second hip replacement at the start of Future Past? I remember noticing he was incredibly static (for him) in videos from early on in the tour, and read that was the explanation. His mobility was night and day, it seemed, when looking at 2023's leg and 2024's leg.

News Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

As @Helmuth Von Moltke said above, his Listen With Nicko stuff from the First Ten Years box set (and after, apparently) leans heavily on humor that doesn't fly these days. A handful of gay jokes, over-the-top stereotypical accents, etc. I get that he comes from a very old school era when nothing...

News Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

If you didn't like them when you were younger and probably had a less refined sense of humor, I probably wouldn't bother trying again nowadays. I used to think they were funny, now it's a little grating with the constant Monty Python-speak and cringey jokes.

News Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

I listened to all 11 of them a few weeks ago, and yeah...it wouldn't fly. I'm sure he's toned down a lot of the...let's say off-color jokes and whatnot over the years, so maybe a podcast or something like that might be worth considering. I don't really see them doing it, though, mainly because...

Simon Dawson is the new drummer

While I like the idea in theory that Nick will be the official drummer and this is the final "official" lineup, it all depends on where they go from here. If they record with Simon, Simon should be the replacement, not just a live fill-in drummer. I'd have no problem if Nick did a couple tracks...

Iron Maiden's management: What went wrong?

I've mentioned it a couple times. The information was taken from interviews with Steve during the Dance of Death cycle when I used to obsessively scrapbook such things. The weight of his bass had been determined the cause of spinal compression, and that's when they decided to cut back on the...

Iron Maiden's management: What went wrong?

I've mentioned this elsewhere in the forum, but who the hell knows where. Interviews at the time had Steve mentioning that the Dance of Death tour would be hitting only bigger markets, especially in the US, due to serious back problems due to the weight of his bass throughout the years. That was...

    Bruce Dickinson

Since he's already announced a new producer for the new album and he's demoing songs with a new band and has barely mentioned Roy in interviews in the last year or so, I'd say the odds are slim at best. There's enough evidence to suggest he's moved on from Roy.

    Bruce Dickinson

Same, though we'll see what improvements he made on Balls, and maybe it'll go up a notch or two. As for Mandrake...it's fine. Certainly not as strong as his lauded Roy Z trilogy and it has definite failings here and there, but I'd never classify it remotely as an abomination. Interested to see...

    Best Live Album?

I vastly prefer Live One over Dead One. It's a fun, very warts 'n all listen. So is Dead One, but the band's reasoning for releasing them separately is why I prefer Live One--because Dead One is full of stuff that was on LaD and Maiden England with a few other oldies. Live One had the new stuff...

Iron Maiden's management: What went wrong?

The casual fans followed the trend of grunge, and having lived through that era as a fan in the US, it wasn't all that cool to be a Maiden fan during that time. The press was particularly brutal in making any metal band that wasn't changing with the times uncool, both in America and the UK...

HUGE IRON MAIDEN BOOTLEG COLLECTION VERSION 3 (ADDED 2023)

So, with the prospects for a Future Past live album getting smaller by the day, what recording seems to be the best from the Future Past tour? I take it Hellfest is the only show that approaches soundboard quality?

Iron Maiden's management: What went wrong?

In the end, it's a little late in the day for this conversation anyway. Maiden aren't going to overtake Metallica anytime soon. Maiden are at the precipice of retirement, Metallica seemingly is not. The fact of the matter is, Rod and the management team has had Steve to contend with in all their...

Iron Maiden's management: What went wrong?

It's like...what's the solution here? Did Rod fail the band by not pushing them to derail from Steve's "sticking to his guns" mentality and go commercial? Release their own Black Album? Had that been the case, we'd have threads proclaiming Rod failed the band by doing exactly that instead of...
